Someone in a response to me earlier referred to themselves as 'just' a carer. There is no such thing as 'just' a carer đź’śx

From a source: “Just had a co-presenter for a buildings research conference bow out. She’s a dual citizen and the FBI came knocking to ask her about her involvement in coauthoring chunks of the Paris Agreement. Climate science is being literally (and I mean literally) criminalized.”

Disgusting and disgraceful, but nothing less than I would expect from these entitled crooks www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Absolutely shocking to see a Labour secretary of state stand at the despatch box and proudly announce slashing support for some of those who need it most - including removing the UC health top-up for young people, as if young disabled people don't exist?! #DisabilityBenefits

The 4 points in one PIP component rule is a calculated tactic to reduce mental health and neurodivergent claimants. I see so many with high needs who don’t hit 4 in one area—so they get nothing. This must be challenged under the Equality Act, and it absolutely will be.

At the heart of every attack on disability benefits is the myth disabled people “get perks”: a free car, loads of cash, a life off work. It misrepresents the reality of disability, whilst exploiting low wages and high living costs to make the public envy people in daily pain.

Where's the evidence that mental health is being "overdiagnosed"?

Transnational companies like Starbucks, Google, Microsoft, eBay, Amazon and others use complex corporate structures to shift profit, avoid taxes. Apple has parked billions of its global profits in Jersey, has no physical presence. UK does little to challenge. Instead, people are bashed.

Love to everyone terrified by today’s benefits announcements—claimants, carers, allies. There’s no making this OK. But know this: it won’t end up as Labour postures. The disabled community will carry on fighting back—lobbying, resisting and mutual aid. Stay safe today please💜

Keir Starmer to drive through welfare cuts for UK’s most severely disabled people, more than 600,000 benefit claimants could lose out on an average of £675 a month. Awful, inhumane. No cuts to corporate welfare, won't tax the rich. People sacrificed to gods of neoliberalism.

Cutting the #PIP thresholds won’t REDUCE disability, it will INCREASE it. Why? ❌ People will lose essential care, mobility aids & support. ❌ Poverty, stress & untreated conditions will worsen health. ❌ Many who can work with support will be pushed out. This is NOT REFORM -it is social vandalism.

Privilege is the option to go about your day knowing that toeing the line will be enough to protect you. The rest of us who are visibly different, who are tagged “the other”, don’t have that option. The question is if you have privilege, what do you do with it?

A reminder to all the disabled, neurodivergent, and traumatised folk who go hardcore when social justice and community is under threat to: - Preserve spoons - Sleep - Eat & drink - Have a giggle about other things - Mute - Turn off when you need to - Go full animal memes mode

Replace Starmer with AI, he’s about as awkward and clunky

"Better that 700,000 disabled people are pushed into poverty than one scrounger gets away with a life of free-rolling. It’s God’s work" A brilliant and damning indictment by @mrjohncrace.bsky.social of this vile government's war on the poor and vulnerable www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

If you’re suicidal about benefits changes, please remember nothing can change at all soon: 📞 Samaritans – 116 123 (24/7) 📞 CALM - 0800 58 58 58 (5pm-12) 📞 Mind – 0300 123 3393 (Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm) 📞 Papyrus – 0800 068 4141 (9am-midnight) 📞 Citizens Advice – 0800 144 8848 Jay💜

The only difference between a temp abled person & a disabled one is luck & time Their good health isn’t due to “trying harder” or moral superiority. It’s luck Health can be taken away at any moment, and if you live long enough you will almost certainly experience disability Be kind. Be inclusive.

A week ago, the world was outraged wanted to protect Ukraine, which is fine, and now, we see further war crimes in plain sight, further acts of genocidal intent and it’s crickets from global leaders

Sign above old town hall in Southwark: The health of the people is the highest law. This Govt needs to be reminded of that. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Politicians for Sale. UK political parties accepted ÂŁ100m in donations in 2024. Donations are bribes made to exercise influence, subvert public choices and ensure that corporations/rich rule. Normal people can't compete. Can't cleanse politics without banning donations.

On international women’s day, a reminder, that if your feminism isn’t intersectional, it’s not real feminism

From “Parable of the Talents” by Octavia Butler #skybrary #skybrarians #booksky

This is not considered an attractive message on International Women’s Day because they expect professional women to say things like work hard to break glass ceilings & work-life balance etc but I say just LOOK AFTER YOURSELF. That’s the essence of what I’ve learned. And.. you know.. it’s not easy!
