Ooh I’ll read this one later. The documentary FORBIDDEN LOVE: THE UNASHAMED STORIES OF LESBIAN LOVE from the early ‘90s was incredible if you’ve seen that (I’m sure you have).

Not by name--she deserves a story of her own--but I do mention both The Ladder and Naiad Press, so in that way, she is instrumental even to my abbreviated history.

Oh, that's good to hear! You're right, she absolutely deserves a story of her own. I didn't know her well, but we were friendly acquaintances when I worked at The Women's Review of Books in the early 1980s. I didn't necessarily agree with everything she did, but I admired her courage and tenacity.
