That's just the bond he would have to pay for an appeal. Seems like he doesn't have the $180mill either. He wanted $100mill of a waiver, he got neither. If he can't scrounge $180mil in 10 days, he's done.
If you say so. I'm just pointing out that dipshit just used the system as it was intended. People can appeal bond values, and do every day.
I was just pointing out that the fine still stands, it's the bond for the appeal that's been mitigated. He still has that $457mill hanging over his head.
I keep thinking about the way some GOP-run states won't let people vote after they've served time because they still owe fees and fines. Once again proving that it's expensive to be poor and cheap to be rich.
This just proves how broke he is. He is such a broke loser that they had to reduce the bond because they felt sorry for him. This is political gold for the Democratic party. Not only is he a criminal that has to pay money for his crimes but he can't even do it.
People love to leave out the part where the "emulator guy" was a member of an international group that sold circumventin devices, ran money laundering schemes, and help people's hacked consoles for ransome.
I don't particularly love Nintendo, but this guy got what was deserved.

- you can be too bright to go to prison
- you can get a $454M penalty bond reduced to $175M
It's still only Monday
oh sorry I meant they’re forcing him to pay 30% of his income for the rest of his life

The clown was granted $175m or 38% down just to stop the clock on collections & compounding interest while he appeals.
And NY courts (or the enforcement agency) usually work out payment plans/garnishments for those who cannot afford the whole amount at judgement.
