Jeffries: hey the GOP controls the government, absolutely nothing i can do, gonna work on my personal book tour Sanders: brb i am going to personally barnstorm strategic GOP house districts and try to peel off 2 votes so we can block Trump's cuts to Medicaid www.commondreams.org/news/bernie-...

Kennedy Center ticket sales dropped roughly 50 percent week-over-week after Trump announced his takeover www.washingtonpost.com/entertainmen...

Last week, my innie: 1. led his team in an ORTBO 2. visited the Posterity Wing 3. improved relations between the Optics and Design and the Macro Data Refinement Teams 4. was rewarded with a Music Dance Experience upon reaching 75% on Sienna 5. had an unsanctioned erotic entanglement

1. Tumbled out of bed 2. Stumbled to the kitchen 3. Poured myself a cup of ambition 4. Yawned and stretched 5. Tried to come to life

The reply email inbox for this “what did you do last week” email is [email protected], so, you know, definitely don’t send them any unrelated messages that would interfere with their ability to carry out Elon’s dumbass bullshit

One might think that being director of the FBI is a substantial enough job that you wouldn’t have time for a side hustle running a whole other federal agency

There's going to be news about a woman illegally detained and being forcely removed from a Coeur d'Alene Idaho Town Hall meeting taking place at the high school by men that would not identify themselves wearing plain clothes because she opposed the republican viewpoints. youtube.com/shorts/hhJdH...

It's not "a 250 year precedent"! It's Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution! "The Congress shall have Power...To establish Post Offices and post Roads"

George Zimmerman and Kyle Rittenhouse are walking free! They're doing fucking speaking tours!

Someone is going to have to put in so much work redacting these

private servers, you say?

Dear Mr. Musk: 1. Your mom 2. Your mom 3. Your mom 4. Your mom 5. Your mom I hope this answers any questions you might have, son. Sincerely, Kiss my ass

I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month. This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate. A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.

I don’t understand how there’s any debate about whether to characterize them as Nazis when they’re out here sieg heiling. It’s an absolute failure of messaging not to name and condemn this behavior, and build a narrative around it.

I have never been able to convey just how bad maternal health is down here in the Gulf, especially for Black women. But this @mississippitoday.org report? It does it, and I hope EVERYONE reads it. mississippitoday.org/2025/02/19/m...

Among *gestures broadly* everything else, demanding to know what staff got done last week, when there were stop work orders all over the place, is just especially stupid

It is insanely obvious that Elon Musk is illegally exercising the powers of a principal officer of the United States in violation of the appointments clause

Man he really called it

let me say that this is the classic “just asking questions” approach to delegitimizing the achievements of black people. and critically, you don’t even have to be a black person who talks about race. simply being black to these people means you are “obsessed with race.”

Todd Rokita extrajudicially slandered the doctor who provided an abortion to that 10-yo from Ohio & the IN Supreme Court said that was wrong & gave him a public reprimand then he went out and slandered her again & got more charges & is now mad about it indianacapitalchronicle.com/2025/02/21/i...

They want war crimes. I do not know why the media will not say this. They say they want war crimes. Heggy got his job because he supported war crimes on Fox News. They think it is good to hunt children for sport.

another great example along with Wired and Teen Vogue of how real journalism these days can be a lot braver at outlets where no one is trying to get in good with the White House press secretary they’re out here with us, reporting on what’s happening to us all, instead of trying to get inside access

This is so many words to say Trump fired the chairman of the joint chiefs because he’s black www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

So the President not only fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He also fired the top JAGs at the Army, Navy and Air Force. Those are the lead people who determine what is a legal order and what is not. So if you're planning to do things that are illegal they're the most obvious obstacle.

Pay attention to this. Replacing JAGs with loyalists enables whatever orders Trump and Hegseth issue to be interpreted as lawful.

“Worst day of 2025 … so far” is a whole mood in this headline….

“I just wanna say trans people are beautiful. We are never going to stop existing. I’m never gonna stop being trans, a letter on a passport can’t change that, and fuck this administration.”

For those dismayed at the future of ed research, especially IES: The Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE) will host virtual gatherings next week Don't have to be a member to join: Wed, Feb 26: sree.memberclicks.net/wednesday--f... Sat, March 1: sree.memberclicks.net/march1cc

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!

I fell down the stairs this afternoon (I’m fine, just some bruises), and have two big takeaways: 1. I don’t recommend it. 2. Does anyone know how to train a dog to call 911 on behalf of someone who lives alone and whose body would otherwise not be found for ??? days in the event of future falling?

This is a stunning betrayal by Whitman Walker in DC. You CANNOT jettison the trans community to protect yourself. It’s shameful. I got my name changed at WWH. I have promoted their research. Now they are capitulating to save gay people at trans people’s expense by trying to erase us.

I assume he’ll be pardoned and have an appointment in the administration within the month

And Jonathan Greenblatt, somehow

While it's true that Democrats in Congress -- and especially the House -- have relatively little power right now, what they can do is use their local offices to find people suffering from Trump's policies, like this caller, and lift up their voices and tell their stories

"Seven western WI Republican lawmakers did not appear at an event hosted by the Wisconsin Farmers Union ... as farmers from the area said they were concerned about the effect that President Donald Trump’s first month in office is having on their livelihoods." wisconsinexaminer.com/2025/02/21/r...

it’s so funny to be like “we don’t need diverse spies”

Defacing this to say LOGICAL MEN and giving them little fedoras

Extremely fascist things happening. While everyone sits there obediently.

2 fucking headlines right next to each other

Sharing here what I posted on ig: As Jews grieve the confirmation of the Bibas’ deaths, I’ve seen so many gleeful comments of “well Israel killed them.” First, apparently not. Second, they would not have been killed by anyone if Hamas had not stolen them from their kibbutz in October. 1/4

I’m going to be sick

Not good news, but needs to be said: Hamas claimed that Israel killed the Bibas children and their mother in an airstrike. Forensic examination of the corpses reveals the kids were murdered and that Hamas didn't even send back the mother, but a random body. Depravity piled upon lies.
