The first abolitionists were Black people who'd been enslaved & free Black people. To argue otherwise is to argue that the enslaved & their ppl didn’t actively resist or seek an end to enslavement.

Indigenous peoples resisted colonizer oppression ceaselessly but that history has been consistently suppressed, buried, & lied about. It’s sheer dehumanization to frame that resistance as “savagery,” as even the Constitution does.
