woe is me, not gonna get that Jamie/Robb fic I wanted :(

3 car trips, 200 miles of driving, and 7 hours in the car today. I am fried.

Holding my "everything is fine" line today, even though I did not play frogger well enough in town and hit a pothole hard enough to fuck something up in the car's heating system (some kind of belt slipped, I can tell). It's fine, it's fine, we'll take it to the trusted shop on Monday night. Dammit.

Love this so much!!

And back again. The trick is to gain the precise amount of inertia to get up the hill without sliding off the inevitable curve at the top, and always, always knowing where your tires are and how to get them the best grip on that bit of road (often one set of wheels off on the gravel at the side!)

Once again, I spent too much money at the local queer-owned bakery, and I’m struggling to feel bad about it. 🤣

I đź’› Beshear. I was looking over at Kentucky during the pandemic and wishing he was my governor. He does right by Appalachians.

Feeling this in a big way this morning, having managed to get my little two wheel drive station wagon out our untouched road, when the people with four wheel drives tapped out. m.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn2R...

No, the mail is not “the least of our worries.” It’s a fucking important worry. It is the only postal service that delivers to every address. They are only provider of complete mail services for overseas military bases and provide free overseas PO boxes. They help prepare passport apps. Ship meds…

Third graders in Steubenville, Ohio, are among the best little readers in the nation. For nearly 20 years, the elementary schools in this economically depressed area have produced better readers than some of the wealthiest places in the country. www.apmreports.org/story/2025/0...

I feel like I’ve lost (& continue to lose) big chunks of my life to the overlap between hyperfocus and monotropism. Flow is great, but being unable to deliberately slip in and out means that time slides through my consciousness like sand in the waves—and it feels good, engaging special interests.

I sometimes find it helpful to remember that when change is rippling through a large population, at first it looks like nothing at all. And if it’s change you’re fighting for, that can be frustrating and disheartening. Then you hit the “takeoff” phase and everything seems to be changing at once.

It's Thursday! Menu time. - pasta w/sausage, basil, & mustard - Dijon roast chicken, boiled potatoes w/dill, cauliflower Gruyere gratin - steak sandwiches & fries - white chicken chili - sloppy joes & applesauce - gnocchi w/tomatoes, mozzarella, and sausage - broccoli beef stirfry - dal & rice

A secret third thing: fully engaged with special interests

the slider option is my favorite

As a big fan of not having prisons anymore, seeing Indigenous people block a prison by buying the land out from under the state is very satisfying.

DAY 8: fucking around with the ADHD meds, took a booster at noon, and I approve. Getting me through the mid-afternoon brain slump like a boss.

There are going to be so many spaces for fanfic when Amazon gets done messing around with the James Bond franchise and making it terrible *dusts off James Bond fic idea*

simmering rage tamped down for a bit, very therapeutic!

Welp, it's 8 pm and I have finally finished doing things for other people for a bit, so I'm going to go do something for me and finish this chapter in my current long fic. Maybe it'll rid me of some of my simmering rage.

have accidentally become this Auntie, LOLLL
