Holding my "everything is fine" line today, even though I did not play frogger well enough in town and hit a pothole hard enough to fuck something up in the car's heating system (some kind of belt slipped, I can tell). And back again. The trick is to gain the precise amount of inertia to get up the hill without sliding off the inevitable curve at the top, and always, always knowing where your tires are and how to get them the best grip on that bit of road (often one set of wheels off on the gravel at the side!)

I feel like I’ve lost (& continue to lose) big chunks of my life to the overlap between hyperfocus and monotropism. Flow is great, but being unable to deliberately slip in and out means that time slides through my consciousness like sand in the waves—and it feels good, engaging special interests.
