Week after week watching thre latest episode of Sarah Connor Chronicles, my husband and I would say, "This was supposed to suck!" That show was 10 times better than we ever expected it to be.

So yeah, anybody who's pissed about Kendrick's performance is really missing the point of it. I can get not enjoying it because hip-hop isn't your thing, but damnation, you can't deny the art he and the other performers crafted on a freaking live stage the size of a football field. 5/5

If MTV still had music videos on the regular, this would end up in heavy rotation. It's going to be discussed and studied for years. As for immediate impact, I've already seen signs featuring Uncle Samuel L. Jackson and the phrase "You picked the right time but the wrong guy" at protests. 4/

...to create something that went beyond mere halftime entertainment. It seems a far cry from the "safe" shows they've been presenting since the Jackson/Timberlake incident of 2004 (which led to the creation of YouTube, by the by). Kendrick had a massive captive audience, and he went for it. 3/

Firstly, I wanna say that I listen to very little modern hip-hop and have only a passing knowledge of the Kendrick/Drake situation, so I was judging it mainly on the performance, which was fucking astounding! The beats, the choreography, the camera work, plus the messaging all came together... 2/

Thank you Marc! Academic unions & the community of scientists have organized a national day of protest for tomorrow, Feb 19. We are building a tsunami of micro actions that is accelerating. Join us in D.C., a campus, city hall, street corner of overpass near you. #NQNQ247

I tend to buy vintage Song of the South merch when I find it because I'm against Disney denying its existence. Those guys effed up and I ain't gonna let 'em forget it!

Been doing the same lately. About halfway done, as I still have a few bullshit piles to stow away.

We recently got the entirety of Star Trek: TNG on Blu-Ray. We've been watching at least one episode every night and just started Season 3. The unbridled hopefulness of the show is a wonderful balm after a bad day.

My husband said Bing still lists it as Gulf of Mexico, so he's using Bing for all his searches now to support them.

Been a reader my entire life, but it wasn't until age 15 that I began reading comics on a monthly basis (before that it was catch as catch can). I once asked my Mom if she was disappointed with this new habit of mine, and she replied, "I don't care what you read, as long as you're reading." 🫶

I informed him that the Eastwood/Hex connection went MUCH deeper than he expected. I sent him all the info I had, then put him in contact with Jared Vian, leading to a full-fledged article on a little-known aspect of Hex history with quotes from me, thus keeping up my rep as Jonah's P.R. agent. 2/2
