I'll look into the ring light option (I've never adapted to working through a magnifying glass, though; it disconnects my hands and eyes). First, though, I'm going to try a tip I've seen online: put some white baking paper over a lamp to diffuse the light.
I might fuck up a mini. Pray for me.

"Tipfingers" sounds like a Victorian euphemism for a pickpocket.

If you want a fun, easy to learn/play, pared-back version of D&D, "Animal Adventures" works really well as a gateway to D&D. The starter set for it is about £25-30.

I would go and knock at around 7:30pm. Most people seem to be home and have finished their evening rush about then. YMMV.

They're currently trying to decide whether to get involved in civic politics as the city they defended shows signs of large-scale interest (not helped at all by their recent thievings).

So far, they've rescued some guardsmen from a small town, made friends with a tribe of goblins, stolen a wagonload of gold, captured a cambion, defeated a giant, brass gorilla that has been terrorising a huge area, helped to defend a large city from Giff pirates and stolen a ruler's badge of office.

If the #StarTrekAdventures 2e book is organised better than the 1e book, it will be an amazing game!

Just got them rolling for stuff to feel like they were actually *playing* the game, not just describing their characters. Only 1/4 had ever played #D&D before so I thought it best to leave the role-play for S2 or 3. Only have 1 hour a week.
Any #advice on how to run his for kids is VERY welcome!

Pay a town to do it? Outsource that work! Commodity that religion!
