4. In other words, we use humor to form groups and to find our individual place in or out of those groups. In short, joking and humor is a tool or mechanism by which we assimilate or alienate. We use humor to bring people into or keep them out of our social groups. This is what humor *does.*

3. To say humor is a social act is to say that it occurs in a social context; it is a way we relate to and interact with others. Which is to say, humor is a way in which we construct identity -- who we are in relation to others.

2. Even if Trump's "I'm king" tweet *is* characterizable as a joke, you're never "just joking." Nobody is ever "just joking." Humor is a social act that performs a social function (always).

You can’t be serious? We are so far beyond “worried about inflation”. We’re terrified of unlawful persecution, we’re up in arms about the economic collapse Musk is orchestrating, we are distraught about all of it…and we are PISSED at the lack of response from 95% of elected Dems.

Any chance testosterone will be available in the near future? Very worried insurance is going to stop covering & the cost shown on Amazon (without insurance) was $550 for a 20-day supply.

If you don’t know it, google “Purdue owl” and it will tell you how to do everything. (And, it is very stressful at first. I’m sorry)

Try as I might, I cannot find the words to convey the depth of sorrow I feel for the people of LA. I hope you know there are so many of us grieving along side you. Just so terribly sorry for all that you have lost. 🧵

All of this unfolding with a recognition that there is no returning to the life you have known, built, and loved. Then, to have the unfolding tragedy immediately politicized & misrepresented is its own special form of demoralization & dehumanization. 🧵

It’s hard to find words to describe the horror & grief of witnessing your home, your children’s schools, where you buy your groceries, the places you laugh and cry with loved ones, the roads you drive, your entire community crumble into ash and ruins overnight. 🧵

(My .02 humble, prediction) Their plan isn’t actual deportation. Its feeding the for profit prison system and then contracting out forced labor.

These type of memes are degrading & harmful to women and trans people. I really wish people would examine why they aren’t the insult they are intended to be.

I can hear the insistence in their eyes & I hope that good baby’s mind control tricks are strong enough to earn a bite every time. So very adorable.

Yes. That’s how I read it.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I read this as a threat to moderate Republicans to get in line or else. “Most of you have skeletons, if you want yours to remain hidden, don’t demand others (45s chosen ones) show theirs.” Did anyone else read it this way?

Does a wildly proactive & protective mom of a trans person make the cut?

I’m so sorry you are dealing with this.

Time for some self defense classes & conceal carry shooting & safety training. I don’t want to use violence. But, I’ll be damned if I’m not better prepared to defend myself & others.

I am shaken & it scares me to think what would have happened if those women had not been shown up. It disturbs me too because I am not meek; but, I was startled. The other part that worries me is I’m 47. I’m not 28 or 35. I underestimated my chances of being harassed. 🧵

& basically the women threatened them to come find out how many knives & guns there might be among them as they simultaneously told them to f*ck off & walked me to my car. Shouting obscenities about not being worth it & to watch ourselves, the two men got back in their car.🧵

“Look at that one… her body? Or, ours?,” as they proceeded to open their car doors & get out. I’m stunned & too close to them to turn around & my car is just 10-20 ft. away. Miraculously, several women, appear quickly 🧵
