Back at my job for the first time in weeks, and man, I've got quite the backlog of Cryptic Crosswords.

Found these almost-but-not-quite knockoffs of Rocky from Lackadaisy Cats at an Amazon returns store in Chicago. Even has the 'R' embroidered on his tie! @ironspike.bsky.social @lackadaisy.bsky.social

I have gone through all 4838 Illinois Flag Commission design submissions that were released to @milesmacclure.bsky.social via FOIA so that you don't have to wade through countless Abe Lincoln silhouettes, bald eagles, and "LAND OF TAXES" grievance flags to find the funny ones. Thread starts here.

Yes! Finished my Christmas sewing project minutes before midnight! I made a bunch of sherpa-lined scarves (in three colors). The magnetic clasps are great (though a pain to sew in), but it does now mean the scarves are chiral, and sometimes take two or three tries to put on.

Yeah, don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty good at wrapping Christmas presents.

I created a quick Gaslands feed for Bluesky, and it seems to work ok. It basically just searches and reposts anything with the word "Gaslands".

Alright, a weekend of lazily 3d printing has resulted in a full set of ships for Rad Pirates of the Toxic Sands (a Gaslands spinoff by Mike Hutchinson, of Planet Smasher Games). Got a lot of teeny tiny details to paint!

I have combined my love for Warframe with my fumbling attempts to learn Blender, as well as my hatred of 3DPrinting. I'm trying out CosPLA to see if it is easier to post-process than traditional PLA, ABS or PET-G.

He walked into the saloon, (a) big iron on his hip...

Sometimes the only way to fix a 3d printer is with incredible violence. This was after some exploratory cuts with the bandsaw.

If you have a good start in Geometry Nodes, the next level involves learning to cast geometry types. I'll explain, because I literally just coined the term this second. The geometry you work on comes in various types with different attributes: meshes, points, curves, volumes, and instances.

This might explain the weird readings we had on the last break test on the 800kPa machine...

Apparently it's a school holiday, or at least a "Day of Non-Attendance", so I'm teaching coworker's kids to weld today!

All possible tweening transition types and easing types. (except spring) a cheat sheet I made for #GodotEngine #GODOT

I was discussing warframe cosmetics with a friend, and was trying to explain sugatras. Him: "Oh, so like truck-nuts for swords!" I am so, so angry at how right he is.

i’m a real artist

For #Tennotober2024 Day 23. Dice. I did the initial design live on stream the Sunday before Koumei dropped and uploaded the small die to Cults3d, I have been working on the larger die ever since and finished the prototype tonight. #WarframeFanArt #Blender3d #AnycubicMegaX

I'm fabricobbling together an extensometer for work; its not pretty, but it is pretty accurate.

Here. Have some.

Demonstrating the embroidery machine at the hackerspace for Open House. I'm back making Warframe glyphs again.

This is still my favorite tool in the shop.

These photos are from the total eclipse back in April. Sadly most of the video from the payloads didn't record properly.

Here's a 360° video of the balloon pop above Utah. This would have been shortly after the eclipse.

Oh hey, its been a year since I have posted! Here's an updated design for the payloads. I went with a hi-viz nylon harness, as people were complaining that the rope was "too shibari looking". Look, a hishi karada is great for wrapping 3D shapes, ok???

High altitude ballooning day during the eclipse was a success!
