Same goes for Starmer supporters, Macron supporters, contemporary German SPD supporters, etc, etc

Of course Russia isn't invading Ukraine to end capitalism But the West is defending Ukraine in order to defend the interests of the Western capitalist classes against Russian capitalist interests They're not motivated by ideals of justice or democracy, or else they would also support Palestine etc

Quick thread about "cannon fodder" The West's preparedness to see Ukrainian soldiers get slowly ground down in a war of attrition just to "slow down" Russia, whilst knowing a final victory was impossible without using resources they didn't want to, is nothing new Look at their strategy in WW2 1/

Trump: Let's admit that Ukraine's war aims are not realistic so that we can support Israel's completely unrealistic war aims instead Socialists: It's good that there may be peace in Ukraine but we need to keep fighting US Imperialism Liberals: Be realistic about Ukraine? Fuck you, Putin-lover!

Idk everyone went to fucking Qatar and they had very obvious slavery.

Yesterday I met a fellow trades-unionist who said: "I don't get when you see people in the UK protesting about things in other countries, like Palestine. Why don't they go there to protest?" We have a lot of fucking work to do in order to create a class-conscious, internationalist workers movement

People now talk about the EU countries "realising" that "America doesn't have our best interests at heart" They never had our best interests at heart! The EU & NATO were set up to "contain the threat of communism" - even though the USSR wasn't "true communism" it still inspired workers elsewhere

If the revolutionary Left, who are not loyal to the interests of our own nation-states but rather those of the global working class, don't have our own political party but rather capitulate to those who support imperialism & militarism, no-one will be there to argue against the drive to endless War

I cannot recall a government in my lifetime making such loud, consistent noises at home about how desperately skint we apparently are whilst pledging literal billions for slaughter overseas

The only way I can try to make sense of this is through 'linkages': sometimes a factory owned by a massive corporation can still helps small businesses in the area: local tradespeople, truck drivers, food places etc Sometimes they don't! Such a weak argument that Starmer doesn't even spell it out

(I am no economist but) I find it odd and strikingly post-Thatcher British to try and run a ~Kaleckian last-phase arms economy through the deindustrialised economic infrastructure of small business.

Those of us in the UK who consider ourselves to be Revolutionary Socialists but who don't reject using "bourgeois elections" for revolutionary purposes, need to come together as one organisation with a shared strategy We may then decide to seek alliances with certain reformists, or we might not 1/

If you come from the socialist left and criticize liberals the libs will immediately throw you on the right. They try to make a Nazi out of you. Libs, who murdered a million Ukraini and genocided babies, women and the elderly. They still can’t hear the truth. It’s always about liberals feel.

When I was 14, I saw Britain go to war with Afghanistan because Saudi terrorists attacked the US When I was 15 we invaded Iraq, because their bombs could reach ISRAEL in 45 mins (not the UK, that was a lie) When I was 17, terrorists bombed London What is done for "Our Security" makes us less safe

No British troops should be deployed overseas without a free vote in Parliament.

Two things can be true at the same time: NATO powers want to free up Ukraines economy to western capital - this is imperialism according to Lenin's definition At the same time Ukrainian people are resisting Russia occupying their territory As for the Donbass, many there support Russia in any case

Europe has already been trying to get its hands on Ukraine's economy for decades Look at the detail of the 2014 association agreement they wanted them to sign, & when the president refused, a colour revolution was started against him, with protesters for "sovereignty" clearly not reading the deal

Yeah we're just drowning in freedom over here

The world’s five largest listed oil companies – BP, Shell, Chevron, ExxonMobil and TotalEnergies – have made profits of more than $380 billion since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the ensuing rise in energy bills, finds Global Witness. globalwitness.org/en/press-rel...

Y’all: America has never been worse/this bad!!! Black people: 😐😐😐😐😐😐

He also didn't believe black people really need voting rights, or that people in developing countries should be allowed to elect governments that US corporations didn't like Harking back to a mythical past when things were supposedly better but were in fact not is exactly what Trump supporters do

Starmer is using the phrase "coalition of the willing" to talk about gathering European allies for continuing the war in Ukraine. Yes, that's the phrase Bush used to strong arm people into the invasion and systematic destruction of Iraq.
