It always seems impossible for women to cross this threshold - until they do. If it can be done in Britain, Italy, Germany, Australia, Denmark,Ceylon, Argentina, Mexico, Iceland, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh then it can be done in the USA.

Plans to stick American people in concentration camps were stated up front - homeless people as well as alleged criminals. The only change is that the people will be shipped out of the country.

A major cause has in fact just been identified and it makes perfect sense as to why autism is on the rise in unhealthy societies - and especially those that don’t have good affordable healthcare Study strengthens link between maternal diabetes and autism - www.reuters.com/business/hea...

Still a way to go but it looks like Trump might get there: 1 Chinese Yuan = 0,12 Euro But then what? China is making new trade deals with Europe, dominating Africa & expanding into the ME So this mass migration of factories isn’t looking very certain at all. The US doesn’t fit into a square hole

If other governments don’t think their gold is safe then how long until millionaires/billionaires begin to ask the same question. People will be running for cover.

Anyone planing a wedding over the next 4 years - DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR NAME
comment in response to post
Married women get ready to legally change your names back to the original. You don’t need the same surname to be married. Dem women doing this will be able to vote. MAGA will lose its female vote share since they are less likely to do this. Also, it will annoy Maga extremists - a win in itself
comment in response to post
If they aren’t stopped now the USA will be under their boots for decades. The Dems seem to want to let MAGA do so much damage that voters turn against them. But by that point the rule will be cemented, like Hungary/Iran/Turkey. The joke is that these guys think they are unique. They are just tyrants

11% increase in airspace parts. I was going to say that this is another hit for Musk but I suppose it isn’t since USA tax payers are being forced to pay for spaceX Stocks slide again as US forges ahead with 104% tariffs on China - www.reuters.com/world/china-...

We have no choice but to protect Ukraine. Taking Ukraine would be for Russia what Poland was to Germany. But I really hope that the Chinese fighters recently killed/captured by Ukraine were unofficial mercenaries.

Yep. I’m certain that war is his plan to avoid elections and always was. He plans to fight it in Europe. I hope we call his bluff by staying neutral.

Seems like Trump wants all the wars. The biggest wars. The best wars. Winner wars. Small print - bone spurs and not my kids …

Not saying that with any pride - I’ll work on it….

I think this might be the first time in my life that I feel actual hate for another human being. That’s a major thing for me. I’ve worked with all manner of violent/abusive people in my career as a Social Worker & met quite a lot of objectionable individuals in life. This is the first tang of hate.

I’m not saying America won’t be forgiven. Of course it will. But reality has been made clear and De Gaulle proven right. It’s not in the west’s best interests to invest so much trust or power in any one nation.
comment in response to post
We are all De Gaulle now
comment in response to post
Not really and in some ways that’s for the best. Europe and the common wealth countries will never again invest so much trust in the USA and your success is no longer our success.

It was because I said that I’m applying for my Irish passport. That led to me being an imperialist invader. I explained that my grandma is Irish and she didn’t lose her nationality, culture or Irish/Celtic DNA when she moved. Apparently DNA is not real and nor is culture - only states. Go figure.

Many of the democracies that have fallen over the last 10 years did not have significant left movements. Plato had us pegged long before we adopted our current positions www.thecollector.com/plato-argume...
comment in response to post
I will look it up. But I think that it would be odd to elevate left language as a cause above pressures of slowing western economies and the influx of people from war torn places. And it’s not as though the fall of democracies is new or limited to the west (Hungary, Turkey, 10 African counties etc)

Recently I was accused as being a blood and soil Nazi for saying that Irish people are are distinct ethnic group. So yes, I do see what you are saying. That sort of nonsense is food for the right
comment in response to post
I do find it insanely toxic that left and liberal people continue to tear each other down on language when we need to unite. I agree with you there
comment in response to post
For example inequalities in policing. Black British people are treated disproportionately harshly by the police. We can’t stop acknowledging and challenging that because the right is now attempting to highjack the language
comment in response to post
I am British. Our discourse always follows yours. From my point of view the lefts language has been used as a cudgel by the right - we agree on that. But the power behind that language was never as devisive as the culture war sparked primarily by the right. We can’t fight them by becoming them
comment in response to post
Not sure why anyone feels guilt tripped. The starting point probably needs to be that people see one another as allies against all oppression. No one feels aggrieved about standing up for a person that they genuinely see as a friend or ally
comment in response to post
The divergence in our view comes from whether we agree that that special right/advantage must be stated legally to be relevant. I don’t agree to that. The privilege is enforced by state officials - so it is a privilege
comment in response to post
I just posted the definition ‘a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group. "education is a right, not a privilege"

If three men living on the same street and working the same job are not treated exactly the same by all social institutions then one or more has privilege over the other. People don’t have to be posh to have privilege.
