#VEDay my mum and dad celebrated in Barnet, on leave. Dad did 6 years as a Signalman Attfield (Burma, N.Africa, Italy) and Mum lied about her age to join the ATS in 1941. Remembering them and remembering that Fascism is still here, coloured orange or looking frog faced.

So how do we get the economically inactive back to work? Public sector is being cut. The private sector is driven by profit not job creation. So can subsidised jobs help? Flexible hours, min wage, no net loss of benefits. Focus on community, arts and leisure and environment. Add to voluntary effort!

#Brutalist #FilmReview The first half was a good film but ruined by melodramatic and unlikely second half. More loose ends than a tin of spaghetti. What happened to the nun? Why were Laszlo’s buildings so rubbish? Why the train crash? Deeply annoying despite some great cinematography and acting.
