George Graham would be purring - a defensive masterclass, and a great goal to seal it.

When I worked for LB Hackney in the 90s he was known to the civil engineers and planners. Indeed a legend…and the neighbour from hell.

What’s the explanation for the public support for Estonia tho’. IMHO one of the worst entries. No accounting for taste I guess.

Agree. Glasman has an overly romantic view of working class people and seemingly hates professionals and managers. Sorry mate, but working class people are more cosmopolitan than you think, and make up many of the groups you despise. Blue Labour is a great big rabbit hole IMHO.

I think Lyon’s Tea Room transmogrified into the Wimpy burger chain. So you can to one of those if you like. I’ve been boycotting all this stuff for years

I think the Munich betrayal by Chambelain is a better historical analogy. Poland in 1945 was occupied by the Soviets and aside from a full scale war against the Red Army there was no option but accept its servitude. But Czechoslovakia and Ukraine were/are free democracies before betrayal

Thank you for those who contributed to #BlackArsenal. Living in Finsbury Park in the 80’s and going to Highbury, seeing that team develop felt powerfully relevant to the zeitgeist and made a big impression on pale me.

Martinelli down the middle seems viable. I thought we needed a wide forward more than a centre forward, but Nwaneri - even Lewis-Skelly are now options on the wing

Also just as we boycotted apartheid friendly companies like Barclays in the past, we should stop using Amazon, Facebook, Twitter etc. Put our money where our mouth is and stop providing profit to slime bag “TechBros” and other Trump enablers.

Wondering if PGMOL refs have a Dr Strangelove like twitch with red cards against the Arsenal. Oliver’s impulse is particularly uncontrolled. Tie his arm down!

The concept of health FOR all policies envisages, from a health perspective, investment in many areas for mutual benefit - a virtuous cycle rather that the vicious one adopted since 2010

Sadly accurate I feel as a lifelong reader. Now my readership is digital, the Observer is buried in the Guardian imprint and will die unless given a separate identity.
HopingTortoise are the answer, tho no idea whether it is or not.

Holding to two thoughts
1. The thieves will fall out now they have their hands on the swag
2. Nemesis follows Hubris in Greek tragedy, maybe here too.

Great point on #PGMOL in this. A organisation with a talent pool puddle deep and seemingly full of twisted little bigots. Fans have lost faith in its ability to generate even handed accurate refereeing, and it should be replaced.
