That is fair, but unless all our information on the relationship with Deripaska is perfectly complete - and of course it might be - he’s also compromised. Do we associate the Blairites with a critical understanding of the nature of oligarchy and political power?

Given the Blairites myopia, at best, on the nature of oligarchy, and Mandelson’s particular scandals with Deripaska I worry their instincts will be exactly wrong for the moment. The learning curve having remained flat….

Ideology isn't dead. People want ideas/explanations & ways to be involved. The online right in all its guises - from anti-vax to manosphere - offers that. It's not about the headlines and getting on the news. It's about the long-haul of showing people a world view which helps them think and act.
