I think Conclave (2024) fans should be known as “conclavists” instead to mess with right-wing ultra-tradcath nutjobs. Also it sounds like we want to elect our own Pope LMAO.

My 10,000+ word essay on the anarchy of the peripheries, rebel peripheries, marronage, remontar, mamundok, desertion, abandonment, the CPP-NPA, and armed struggle has been picked up by a distro and will be released as a zine in a few months! I'm still accepting comments on it from draft readers!

Born on this day in 1918, probably the most underappreciated anarchist theorist of all time, Marie Louise Berneri.

Say it with me "The New York Times is a fascist rag"

Latest figures from Assistance Association for Political Prisoners on arrests & verified killed in Myanmar conflict. Girm figures & likely a significant under count. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar Full brief: aappb.org?p=31509 Data set: coup.aappb.org/data-explorer /1

Steadfast anti-imperialist anarchist Marie Louise Berneri was born on this day in 1918. Here's one of her rarer articles (with links to other texts by and about her). Man-Made Famines (1943)

It's weird that eggs ever had prices.

The definition of "small business" is as slippery, ideological and unhelpful as "non-violence". Small Business is a right wing framing that offers a non-class non-property based analysis and imagines the problem with businesses are their size rather than the fact they exploit and dominate workers

I finally have a completed draft of my rebel peripheries essay! Formerly my essay on "marronage" in the Philippines (I was mistaken) and connecting it to the New People's Army and trying to learn anarchist lessons from rebel peripheries.

Me when I write something so fire and I pat myself on the back in amusement.

Apparently, the Communist Party of the Philippines considered piracy or sea-based guerrilla warfare as a strategy. Honestly, hardcore. Unfortunately, it's more wishful thinking than viable. (Text excerpt from “Specific Characteristics of Our People's War.”)

If you’re in the disability justice world, you should be following the new @blackdisabilityins.bsky.social account. So many good things ahead and you’re gonna wanna be in the loop!

Previously, my archaeology folder had happy stuff like egalitarian cooperation and kingless cities. Now I have two archaeology folders, one for "a better world is/was possible," and another for "humanity has no depths."

I have two things to share on the People Power Revolution. The 1st would be BISIG's manifesto, THE SOCIALIST VISION, which really did try to break from the oligarchic mode and the failure of the left to decisively influence the revolution. www.marxists.org/history/phil...

#TodayinHistory in 1986, the EDSA People Power Revolution triumphed. Dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. lost control of the Philippine military. Corazon C. Aquino was sworn in as 11th President of the Philippines. By 9:25 PM, the Marcos family had fled to Hawaii. www.facebook.com/share/p/1BFr... #Edusky

Just learned about the Neolithic Y-chromosome bottleneck, and I will never be the same. 😬

As an appendix to my text on “Bureaucratic Realism,” I also transcribed an interview with Žižek where he critiques anarchism. I reply to him in my text, but Žižek's original work is a bit of lost media with the links having rotted. So my transcription is it. www.thecommoner.org.uk/appendix-to-...

I finished @margaret.bsky.social's new book and y'all, it's wonderful. 🥹 I love the way the narrative is descriptive but never overly so. Each character has a unique voice, and little regional phrases like “might should have been" are a nice touch. A brief thread (not sure if it'll post in order):

Looks like asteroid 2024 YR4 now has a 0.004% chance of hitting Earth. I was planning to write “Anarchy in the Age of Asteroids”…

Met some Trots who told me that Palestine had a national state interest with a national bourgeoisie opposed to Israel. Couldn't disagree more. Palestine doesn't have a state, they have an equivalent of a Vichy France government.

@wrkclasshistory.bsky.social I think your page on People Power is a bit inaccurate. The military rebellion started first then the Church called to defend the coup plotters, which then mobilized mass support. stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/1118...

I learned this by watching Conclave (2024) and then reading up on it 🥴

This election comparison sheet seems useful for understanding the various cardinals who could be Pope, but it makes a very basic mistake. It's not “Cardinal Luis Tagle,” “cardinal” always goes between the names e.g. “Luis Cardinal Tagle.” collegeofcardinalsreport.com
