something i've been sitting with for a few months is that the reason we shouldn't see classic-style dyson spheres isn't because they'd be hard to see, or because no aliens, but because blocking the solar wind collapses the heliosphere and it would just get obliterated by interstellar media.

my beef with this article is that there's no discussion of why this is happening, and this is explicable from a basic-ish methodology perspective. the problem with testing long covid treatments is twofold. it's preferable to study treatment effects on the least granular control group possible. ⅙
