Also, I never watched that show and just looked up the age for this tweet but it sounds ridiculous. Jude Law gets selected as a compromise because the Conclave can't agree? Ridiculous. Compromise candidates are old with the idea everyone can discuss for a few years and then vote again.

Why is this treated as a creative new "tactic" instead of a horrifying step of unilaterally revoking status of legal residents and testing their ability to revoke or provide benefits based on political whims?

From the Midwest originally and there are lots of towns where most people either work in a factory or wish they did. The tariffs are a disaster and have already cost American jobs, but supporting American manufacturing and industry isn't bad on its own. www.reuters.com/business/aut...

Lots of people actually do want to work in factories if they get job security and good wages (ie, union jobs) and there were a lot of factories being built from CHIPs, battery incentives, etc.

My 12 yo and her friends would *never* not know who is in every group chat.

But this isn't stupid - it's middle school and high school kids who are still figuring out how to navigate the world, and were watching 'educational' TV. That told them scientists and government were lying and hiding things. That's what's so dangerous and insidious.

Yeah, this isn't talked about enough. My brother taught history when the Ancient Aliens ones came out. Same thing- kids saw it on TV, why wouldn't it be true?

I'm not sure why he has to be compromised vs he just genuinely likes dictators and wants Putin to like him. There's almost definitely something transactional since that's how Trump works but it's far more likely he's just an actual fascist and Putin plays him well.

But it's clearly not a place for leftists now, so is it a change in TikTok or a change in how conservatives are using it?
comment in response to post
For me one of the questions on TikTok is if it's the app itself or how it's being used. Are the conservative content creators at an advantage because of how it's set up or are there more of them and they're better and using it? We can't see the inner workings but it would help to plan the future.

The attempt to get cute by saying they weren't going to vote for the bill while planning to vote for cloture was so incredibly insulting I don't see how Dems can have any trust in him.

We know they're dangerous, that's why we want the other party to do anything at all to stop them.

I know this sounds callous, but if you reject vaccines this is actually a very thinkable tragedy.

It's way less important to be a good Clinton/Obama mimic than to demonstrate prescience and vision. People took a gamble on Obama because he opposed the Iraq war when the Clintons didn't, not because he did a great Bill impression. www.offmessage.net/p/the-succes...

For the record, I organize by whether or not I've read them, then by genre, then alphabetical by author the way God intended.
