We agree.

“The TLDR is this: Elon has no idea what he’s talking about. Want proof? If we followed Elon’s own logic, then he too would be guilty of being in on this sinister government gravy train. Take a journey with me.”

NEW from @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social: “Elon has no idea what he’s talking about. Want proof? If we followed Elon’s own logic, then he too would be guilty of being in on this sinister government gravy train.” www.thebulwark.com/p/elon-musk-...

“Winners make policy. Losers go home.” This week on the focus group pod we hear from Dem voters about what they want. Spoiler alert: they want to win. With the very smart @adamjentleson.bsky.social

This is a terrific and wonky episode of my favorite political podcast from @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social, The Focus Group Podcast. www.thebulwark.com/p/winners-ma...

NEW from @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social: “First they threaten you. Then they create conspiracy theories about you. Then they hound you with an online mob to make sure you fall in line… But here’s the thing: The authoritarians only win if you let them.” www.thebulwark.com/p/the-real-r...

@sarahlongwell25.bsky.social: “You have got to go on offense and explain to the American people they are being made less safe every day by the incompetence of this administration.”

The largest government contractor and the richest man in the world now has full access to the the federal government's payment system. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Just say Trump is the best, maybe punch a cop in the face, and he’ll give you a nice pardon.

Far too many people mistake petty stuff like this for strength. Instead of what it obviously is—the action of weak, small, insecure men who recoil when faced with actual integrity. They know, deep down, guys like Milley are everything they aren’t.

WSJ Editorial Board: "The question isn’t Ms. Gabbard’s patriotism. It’s judgment, and what message it would send friends and foes to confirm a director of national intelligence who doesn’t really seem to believe in protecting national intelligence." www.wsj.com/opinion/tuls...

“On Tuesday, Daniel Ball’s case tied to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack was formally dismissed after he received a full pardon from President Trump. But by Wednesday, Ball was arrested once more on a pending federal gun charge.” thehill.com/regulation/c...

We’re doing a 60 day free trial. Because today feels like a good day to sign up for The Bulwark.

Lindsey Graham in 2021 on pardoning Jan. 6 rioters: “To seek a pardon of these people would be wrong. It would be. I think it would destroy President Trump. And I hope we don't go down that road.”

Jumped on with @samsteindc.bsky.social to talk about Trump’s total disregard for US Law while carrying water for the CCP. All after having been one of the OG “ban TikTok” guys.

Was it worth it Nikki?

Trump, who next week will pardon his supporters who attacked police officers:

Trump nominates 3 more Project 2025 contributors to serve in his administration.

Charlie Kirk seems to think lesbians are responsible for the LA Fires. I dissent.

Elon walked back his assertion that he can cut $2 Trillion from the federal budget yesterday. I was tempted just to dunk on him, but as someone who worries a lot about our out of control debt and spending, I wanted to talk about what is possible. So I grabbed a budget expert and we discuss.

Q: Do you think Zuckerberg is responding to the threats you've made to him in the past? TRUMP: Probably. Yeah. Probably.

Q: “You said on your first day of office you are going to pardon January 6 defendants. Are you planning to pardon those who were charged with violent offenses?” Trump: “Well, we are looking at it.”

Trump threatens our NATO ally Denmark.

Former Capitol police officer Harry Dunn: "Mike Lawler who just said he wants to move on from January 6...We would love nothing more than to move on. Donald Trump, however, appears not to want to move on. He brings it up every single time he gets the opportunity."

After just 28 minutes, Trump's victory has been certified by Congress under the supervision of VP Harris. Four years ago today, this process continued until 3:44 a.m. on January 7 because Trump sent a mob to storm the Capitol to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power.

[email protected]: "While maybe today it's kind of surreal that we're here four years later...and putting Donald Trump back in the presidency, history will not be kind to him."

Trump shares a photo of the national mall on January 6, 2021. He is proud of the disgraceful actions taken that day.

At the time, everyone, including Republicans, understood how bad it was. Then, brick by brick, they built a foundation of lies to justify doing what they know, deep down, to be wrong. Trump betrayed the country. And so do they.

U.S. Court of Appeals: “The jury could reasonably infer from Ms. Stoynoff's testimony and the Access Hollywood tape that Mr. Trump engaged in similar conduct with other women — a pattern of abrupt, nonconsensual, and physical advances on women.” www.politico.com/news/2024/12...

Trump nominates two undersecretaries of defense, Elbridge Colby and Michael Duffey, both of whom are Project 2025 contributors.

@sarahlongwell25.bsky.social: “All we're getting right now is a preview of the next four years...Governing is actually for grownups, and Republicans are children who have empowered the richest man in the world to basically tell them what to do via tweet and text.”

Meet the people who Trump wants in his second administration:

Newsmax host Rob Schmitt: “The idea that Trump sent a mob to the Capitol to unleash them to try and hold on to power is just beyond ridiculous.” That's exactly what Trump did.

Former GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger on the chaos on Capitol Hill: “President Musk made it clear - with all his vast government experience, which is basically, he became rich on the federal government - that he doesn't want Republicans to pass this. And VP Trump kind of backed him up at that point”

Four years ago, Trump tweeted "Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!"

Rep. Ralph Norman: "Liz Cheney needs consequences...Look at what the FBI have done to weaponize and put people like Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro in jail." MAGA Republicans care more about Donald Trump than the Constitution.

See below for my statement in response to Chairman Loudermilk's "Interim Report":

Rep. James Comer says he has no issue with Donald Trump using the presidency to enrich himself and his family as long as he is transparent about it.

After his successful consolidation of power, the Leader prepares for show trials of those who resisted his first failed putsch.

Brett Stephens has a truly stupid “never Trump was wrong, maybe Trump’ll be fine” columns in yesterday’s NYT. Same day the house GOP makes it clear (at Trump’s obvious behest) they’re going to investigate Liz Cheney. Sure guys, it’s all gonna be fine! Feel free to look away.

At 3 o'clock in the morning, Trump called for Liz Cheney to "be investigated by the FBI."

Pete Hegseth once claimed that Antifa disguised themselves as Trump supporters and instigated the violence on January 6: “Antifa folks took advantage of this to try to get to the front and try to agitate and create openings for themselves. They want chaos, ultimately.”

Latest episode of the focus group pod is out. Joined by Marc Caputo. How the hope for lower prices trumped concerns about Donald Trump being a bad person. t.co/sM89Y9N5Lg?s...

"Hegseth...was escorted by a security guard with a dark episode in his past. The guard...John Jacob Hasenbein, left the military after...he beat a civilian role player — kicking him, punching him and leaving him hogtied in a pool of his own blood." www.nytimes.com/2024/12/16/u...

Trump says he will be bringing a lawsuit against the Des Moines Register for their polling: “I'm going to be bringing one against the people in Iowa, their newspaper…'the Des Moines Register,' in my opinion, it was fraud, and it was election interference.”

Q: “Are you concerned tariffs might hurt the stock market rise that you've seen and the economy more broadly?” Trump: “Tariffs will make our country rich.” Q: “Will they raise prices?” Trump: “No.”

Q: "You want to issue pardons for January 6 defendants. Will that be a blanket pardon?" Trump: "You'll find out but it's going to go quickly."

Q: “What do you say to people that are worried that [RFK Jr's] views on vaccines will translate into policies that will make their kids left safe?” Trump: “There are problems. We don't do as well as a lot of other nations, and those nations use nothing.”

Q: “Do you believe there's connection between vaccines and autism?” Trump: “You have some very brilliant people looking at it...There is something wrong. And we are going to find out about it.”
