Thank you for this excellent analysis. I’ve followed the discussion on the other ‘Blue’ site which was becoming bogged down with too many ill-informed and emotional takes.

Tbf, he’s probably anticipating the effects of climate change. Clearly a smart chap. ‘Colombia’ btw.

Ha, ha, just been saying the same to my family.

The lack of respect for the best manager the Premier League has ever seen shows just what cheap individuals his detractors are.
They will need to be reminded of their scribbles when it all turns.

I do love halibut, it’s my go-to treat for fish, fried with lemon butter.
Your recipe looks fantastic!

I can make a case for a thumping win.
Also, I can make a case for ….
Let’s say, nervous.

But, then again, what do I know🤷🏻♂️

Definitely underrated, too. Brilliant writing and the casting is perfect. I think it’s a gem.

Used it in June this year without any issues, apart from bypassing London which is always a pain on the way back.

Now there’s one guy in that picture that doesn’t belong in discussions about net zero.

Pity they learnt to write!🤣

I’d like to see football journalists of the near future look back at this era and shame the current inadequate scribblers by asking; ‘where are all the articles about that manager who revolutionised the whole style of play in the U.K., breaking records, doing it his way? Where was your respect?

Agreed on both counts. Lead actor was really good as well.

Ha, ha! Didn’t expect this one. Watched it a few weeks ago and low-key enjoyed it. Great latrine architecture too.

He had all the tools except that little devil somewhere inside him driving him on every day.

Thank you for creating the thread. I’ve looked through it and there are some great next reads!

We’ll have had 7 chances and four corners before then, of course.

That rule would last as long as a diet in a patisserie.

My favourite, I think. He was effortless.

I guess he used the word as the stick to beat Pep with. It gets more clicks, raises the hopes of the opposition, and seems a more legitimate take than ‘me no like City.’

So this guy’s dislike of Pep is based on his attitude to journalists? It must be easy to have a good relationship with journalists -looking at you Arnie - if all they want to write is positive puff-pieces. Do me a favour. Pep is polite and engaging when treated with the respect he deserves.

Agreed. Also find it hard to watch us objectively but the thing I’m noticing (I think!) is the players aren’t seeing the pass and the ball travels too slowly. Wondering if it’s mental tiredness.

That’s super news! I’ve read and really enjoyed all your books. You broke my usual resistance to the genre, so thank you.

Even in the incredibly unlikely event that a ‘special’ deal was negotiated, this is a president who notoriously doesn’t pay his bills. The clues are all there.

I think it’s mental fatigue. Some of the players seem to not see the early pass and the whole pattern of play slows down.

With you on this, Susanna. It’s an infection of cruelty with our media complicit in its spread. Worrying, but there seems to be a proliferation of good people here.

Yes, although I’m in the U.K., I was devastated by the U.S. election result. Further economic political, and moral damage coming our way, I’m afraid.

I think it boils down to the lack of critical thinking in any field in which people aren’t experts.
It’s easy to accept a simple but wrong opinion if the truth is shades of grey.
I read recently that one of the Scandinavian countries is introducing courses in critical analysis. That would help.

Even as a Brit in the U.K., I’ve been appalled at how he’s been vilified. Experts seem to enrage people when their views encroach on people’s lives. Sad.
