NEW: Public health teams are being gutted by Trump's purge of federal employees, imperiling crucial, lifesaving work. "We are hollowing out our government in a way that is going to hurt people and is going to get people killed." w/ @deldeib.bsky.social: www.propublica.org/article/trum...

From a FOIA perspective, "the entire federal workforce should write down and email what they did last week" is extremely funny

“It is especially clear that laying off FDA staff who are funded by user fees will not save the taxpayers any money. The taxpayers are not paying for these employees.” fortune.com/2025/02/18/d...

BREAKING: We are suing DOGE and the Office of Personnel Management to stop the brazen and illegal data sharing of federal employee data with the “government efficiency” group.

in what meaningful way can we say that the constitution is in effect when an unelected and unaccountable billionaire is wielding state power to unilaterally cancel congressional appropriations?

Wired has been doing the work these past few weeks, fantastic reporting www.wired.com/story/treasu...

I think AI is to coding what the industrial revolution was to farming. There will still be coders in a 100 years, but their job will look nothing like a coder's job today, and they will be able to accomplish orders of magnitude more as well.

Muse tip: Align card edges with the keyboard shortcut ⌘+⇧+(arrow key). You can also find the alignment options in the Format and context menus.

Episode #20 is out. Adam Wulf (@adamwulf.bsky.social) on the evolution of Muse, life as a solopreneur and analytics in local-first applications. Full episode links and show notes in the comments.

If your customer support LLM thing says "I've sent this conversation to our team of specialists" and doesn't actually do that, that's not a hallucination, it's an unforgivable bug

My attempt at making my 90s FMV point and click game "period authentic" extends beyond just visual aesthetics. As far as I know, I'm one of few people who are intentionally reducing frames and also deliberately adding in screen tear lol. (Most likely will let players tweak this for accessibility)

Has it only been 2 weeks?

today feels like the kind of day that needs dark clouds, soft rain outside, sad charlie brown music, a cozy chair by the window, a blanket, and a hot tea.

My thesis in a nutshell! A design system and series of ambient computers that are designed to help students use computers without the distractions that come with them.

AsyncSequence is quite similar to Combine's publisher (but far from the same...) In this post we'll explore AsyncSequence, what it's used for, and you'll learn about some of the differences compared to Combine. https://www.donnywals.com/understanding-swifts-asyncsequence

I had the incredible honor to sit down with @avanderlee.com and talk about my journey! 🥰 You can listen to it wherever you get your podcasts, or watch it on YouTube! youtu.be/re3EU1tb6dY?... #indiedev #iosdev

"Just use AI" is not a real solution for app translations where errors could be embarrassing or offensive (or both!). For Muse, here's the process volunteers and I used to keep human effort low and translation quality high:

“Apple is spying on you and sharing your private conversations with advertisers” is certainly one way to describe mishearing “hey siri” and auto-Googling “here’s what I found on the web”

randomly remembered our best release notes from a few years ago

Has anyone here experience with Vision and Hand Poses? I’m trying to just get the Chirality of the hand, but my left hand often ends up being recognized as “right”, my right hand always gets recognized correctly. Here is a little video, one point for left, all points for right.

bsky.app/profile/disa... Completely agree - it's easy to think that adding AI into a product/service/anything "adds possibility" for what it can do. for a toy, adding AI _reduces_ possibility by removing an opportunity for imagination.

kinda feel some void, now that the semester is over 😆 it's been a great 1st semester in the PhD.. as always @museapp.bsky.social keeping me zoomed out 💆‍♂️

What are weekends for except fun mini-projects? I started using Periphery to find unused code in the Muse codebase. Of course, it found the codebase squeaky clean, with only.... 1000+ warnings of unused code. 🤪 Time to exercise the delete key!

I‘m new to AppIntents. And this blog (sowenjub.me/writes/local...) helped me (after 3h) figure out how AppShortcutsProvider is getting it‘s Localized Strings.

does anyone feel that typing in macOS has become more error prone lately? it seems that the auto-correct behavior causes strange typos for me. I use cmd+delete and option+delete at least a couple times a day, and it will delete characters both in front/behind my cursor (!)

When I started to build "The Art of Fauna", I did not expect that the core-loop - drag and dropping puzzle pieces - would be so darn complicated to get right. It's still not perfect, but I'm getting there! 🥳 #buildinpublic #iosdev #indiedev

Having some fun with sky and occlusion materials. 1. I can stand in my room and look into a sky sphere 2. I can stand in the sky and look into my room

Tonight, @museapp.bsky.social served as the muse for evening #poetry - it also happens to be the repository for what’s shared here and elsewhere
