🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen. Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it. Full EO: www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

The Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico does really great work. They have an Amazon wishlist for their transitional housing center if you feel like doing some Friday night gift shopping. There are other ways to donate on their website too. tgrcnm.org/donate

Perfect example of where "Parable of the Sower"/"Parable of the Talents" provides a useful framework of understanding. Change is inevitable, but must be actively shaped.

"[T]omorrow is the child of our today. Through thought and deed, we exert a great deal of influence over this child, even though we can’t control it absolutely. Best to think about it, though. Best to try to shape it into something good. Best to do that for any child." commongood.cc/reader/a-few...

Want some native ecosystem art for your walls? I've made a hobby of collecting Robert F. Eschenfeldt's Illinois DNR posters and I wanted to share the ones I do have so more people can see his beautiful art. Download full resolution ones for yourself flickr.com/photos/19985...

“Your power is relative, but it is real. And if you do not learn to use it, it will be used, against you, and me, and our children. Change did not begin with you, and it will not end with you, but what you do with your life is an absolutely vital piece of that chain.” - Audre Lorde

The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable. This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government. blog.archive.org/2024/05/08/e...
