I have a billionaire trapped in a reward function. He has so much money he could do anything, literally anything a man can do, and he spends every waking moment trying to make the like, view, and follow numbers bigger.

Definitely a nightmare. Imagine being a guard looking to drive against Wemby and Mobley 🥶

Humans would need to evolve to something else for this to happen.

This is probably how the gm looked at it:
Option 1 - You do nothing and go in knowing that an underperforming team wont make it by the end
Option 2- You make a risky trade for an aging star with temper issues, but has the potential to elevate them to one last shot in the playoffs b4 Curry retires

GSW would likely miss the playoffs with that roster
I do have doubts that Butler would even make them that much better in the end
My guess is that the outcome will be more or less the same with or without the trade
They have a lot of work to do on their roster and 1 trade won't be enough

Realistically speaking, Warriors only have 2 years before it's nearly done. Curry will be 39 at that point, and it would be best to pair him with another star before he retires.

There's also Quinten Post, Trayce, and Looney who have all been servicable as the Warriors big men.
Kerr is starting to realize that he cannot run small ball like b4 anymore. Kyle was a poor defender in his mins and it's not sustainable for Dray to keep playing C as he gets older.

When Kuminga comes back we might see Draymond at center again. I have a feeling Kerr will also experiment with Jimmy at PF and Dray at C.
Kerr never really played Kyle at C that much to begin with. He only got more time because of all the injuries.

Moody's devloping slowly but he's playing well as of late. Hield is getting a good amount of criticism for playing some of his worst basketball since Sacramento. I think he'll figure it out since he's always been a streaky player.

Kyle Anderson and Schröder have not been playing well. Their minutes would be better spent on others.
