Forgive the earnest post here, but one year ago this week, Global Tetrahedron took over The Onion. We've since brought back the paper and ONN, dramatically increased revenue, and hired more writers and artists. But most importantly, as other places debased themselves, we refused to bend the knee.

At a hundred days into his presidency, Joe Biden had a 52% approval rating. As we near the hundred days mark in his second term, Donald Trump has a 39% approval rating. Here's how those numbers were framed by the media:

New AP-Norc poll is first major poll with Trump's job approval in the 30s, 39%-59% (-20). apnorc.org/projects/100...

I get that AP is trying to stay on Trump's (nonexistent) good side, but this is the most hilariously pathetic attempt to find the bright side of cataclysmically bad poll results I have ever seen. The headline that they didn't use: Trump Approval Plunges to 39%. apnorc.org/projects/100...

I think a lot of people owe Michelle Wolf an apology.

If I was a person involved in exiling a two year old child with cancer to another country I would simply walk into the ocean and never return

So to sum up the Wisconsin arrest issue: ICE didn't have a juridical warrant. They only had an administrative warrant. The DOJ has not convened a grand jury to indict the judge. They only got a criminal complaint before a magistrate judge. This is ridiculous.

On being called DEI and why it isn’t the burn they think it is

Remarkable how Trump dealt himself the worst possible hand to negotiate w/ China. 1st card: Enacted tariffs that threaten to tank the economy 2nd: Backs China into a corner. 3rd: Makes fed incapable of responding 4th: Tanks markets, bonds and the dollar 5th: no end game, no plan

“I’m one of the good people,” I say as I drag an unaccompanied 4-year-old girl into an immigration court. “People will remember this as a *good* thing I’m doing. Not, like, evil.”

JUST IN: Judge Xinis is livid at the Trump administration for what she says is its "willful" "bad faith" and "evasive" refusal to answer questions about the improper deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. She's demanding more details by tomorrow. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Huge turnout this weekend in Glendale, Wisconsin for a town hall with Ron Johnson. Unfortunately, Ron Johnson didn’t attend. Kudos to Grassroots Northshore for being ready with an empty chair—and the organizing might to make sure he hears from his constituents.

If you read the New York Times today, you will read that Trump had a disciplined first few months and he’s going after Harvard, in part, because of antisemitism. Neither is true. So why the hell would anyone pay to read that shit?

Yes, that very awkward wording suggests that Alito failed to refer the application to the full Court and the Chief stepped in and brought it "before the Court" before the planes could depart.

Let's elevate the fighters: Van Hollen for risking his life to find Abrego Garcia in El Salvador Booker for his 25 hr speech to expose on Trump & Musk's corruption Schatz for blocking 300 Trump nominees Bernie & AOC for rallying hundreds of thousands of Americans Newsom for suing Trump over tariffs

let’s look back at what has happened so far Cory Booker giving a 25 hour speech: everyone loved it, raised his profile Van Hollen flies to El Salvador and meets Abrego Garcia: everyone loved it, raised his profile Schumer publicly caved: everyone hated that just a general note to Dems

Grateful to my friend and MD colleague @ChrisVanHollen for traveling to El Salvador to try to check on Abrego Garcia’s condition. We will not let up the pressure on the self-proclaimed dictator of El Salvador or the aspiring dictator here. We will continue the fight to bring Abrego Garcia home.

well if trump goes after CBS for their news programs I am sure the WHCA and others will stand in solidarity hahahaha sorry gonna go read another profile of a fascinating nazi in the new york times

Remember Fiona Hill? She’s now sounding the alarm again: “We’re definitely on a path toward full-on state repression. There’s no question about it. I’ve thought about this for an extraordinarily long time.” When Fiona speaks, we should all listen.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Rachel! talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/doge-...

While we aren't running in a special election, we are not going anywhere. Next November, we are going to defeat Elise Stefanik, and deliver real leadership to New York. We cannot do it alone. Can you chip in to help today? secure.actblue.com/donate/gende...

Far-right politician Matt Gaetz has endorsed Pierre Poilievre A vote for Poilievre is a vote for Trump

According to media reports, the list of Trump collaborator Big Law firms may grow to include: A&O Shearman Cadwalader Kirkland & Ellis Latham & Watkins Simpson Thacher If they do, they would join the already disgraced: Skadden Arps Paul Weiss Milbank Willkie Farr

I am but a humble cable news host with a bachelor’s in philosophy, but I feel like at some point the bond market is also going to notice that the GOP is going to pass a deficit financed 5 trillion dollar tax cut. Maybe?

badass: “I have spent the better part of my career listening to loud men talk tough to disguise their weakness.”

🚨 I’m running for the Senate to fight for North Carolina. Our democracy is under attack, and Thom Tillis doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to Trump and do what’s right for our state. Here’s who I am. 🧵👇

Trump is shredding our Constitution and tanking our economy. Thom Tillis lacks the courage to stand up to him — I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit on the sidelines.   I’m running to fight for a better future for North Carolinians.   Join our campaign — let’s take back the Senate.

Stupid reality show that asks MAGA types to name a year when America was "great" and then forces them to spend 6 months living exactly how a household at the 75th income percentile lived in that year.

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems like SCOTUS just said the government is allowed to disappear anyone it wants from the street and throw them into a Central American torture pit as long as they give the victims a chance to say "wait, what" before the most conservative district court in the system?

You mean like the tradition of segregation that Dodgers legend Jackie Robinson finally broke? The history of completely ignoring the records of the Negro Leagues? The fact that large amounts of current players come from South American countries? Yeah, thank god baseball isn’t political.

🚨 Our NC Supreme Court race is the ONLY uncertified race in the country. Justice Riggs won fair and square. If Republicans can establish a playbook in NC to overturn elections, they'll use it everywhere. Here's how you can help 🧵

NEW: Yesterday, the Justice Department sent armed marshals to warn former U.S. pardon attorney Liz Oyer not to disclose internal DOJ information during her Senate testimony. Today, Oyer is speaking out to condemn the DOJ’s actions and defend the rule of law.

Can we get more of this? “The Japanese American National Museum will ‘scrub nothing,’ Fujioka said, and instead will highlight the importance of DEI. “Our community is based on diversity, equity is guaranteed to us in the Constitution, and inclusion is what we believe in,” Fujioka said.
