My last supervisor does this daily in retaliation for an old coworker going around her to HR to get reasonable accommodations after she refused to engage for three years while creating a hostile work environment tailored specifically to trigger the disability. Typical toxic ass manager behavior.

I keep forgetting to take photos, but I've got radish and lentil sprouts going, now. This is how I get a lot of my vegetables in times of financial uncertainty. I torture my radish sprouts lol Use a tray if you grow them unless you want a big mass of tangled plants.

All of this - "non-fire" staff get pulled off of normal operations and into the Incident Command System to support emergency response when needed. I have served as a resources advisor and archeologist on incidents. And some of us are, ourselves, firefighters who fill in as needed.
