You lose every game you don't play, every fight you give up, every pursuit you don't chase, every right you don't defend. I'm beyond grateful folks didn't fear the possibility of failure when fighting for rights I enjoy. Thank God for their courage, and pray we can all be more courageous in return.

One thing that is so frustrating and depressing is, the number of people that don’t care about any of the disappearances of people/violations of due process, but imploded over the stock market crashing in response to “liberation day.”
This is who we are, I guess.

OMG - there is no legal pathway. This is illegal and unconstitutional and the fact that he even said it, and she discusses it is so atrocious it makes me physically ill.

Old enough to remember when both parties objected to extraordinary renditions of suspected terrorists from other countries to black sites in other countries. Two decades later and Baghdad Barbie is casually suggesting US citizens could be taken off US streets and sent to Central American gulags.

This is so blatantly un-Constitutional that it’s insane. It violates the amendment barring cruel and unusual punishment, cuts off access to due process and legal representation, and is effectively selling human beings into either slavery or death camps.

The end of WWII to 1973 was the only good time for the US economically, and it was that way because we had a 91-92% tax rate for the most wealthy thanks to Eisenhower.

The Trump Administration’s response that they ‘have no way of getting these people returned’ is ridiculous. That’s not an appropriate or adequate response from the government. It’s their responsibility to find a way to make it happen NOW.

From expert @ruthbenghiat.bsky.social
“Just a reminder: the US is not Castro's Cuba, Putin's Russia, or Xi's China. At any moment the GOP could unite and oppose Trump and create a crisis for him. Their cowardice has been astounding but they can still act without being put in a Gulag or shot.”

Whenever you see 'how could they think this', 'how could they elect a fascist', 'how could the price of eggs be more important than democracy', etc -
it's all the same question, with the same answer:

Occam's razor - the least complicated explanation in this case is that millions upon millions of Americans are actually ANGRY and came out to protest. Not an extensive conspiracy to find 5.2 million people to pay to protest. But sure, keep drinking that Kool-aid.

“For profit” prisons are the real reason they want to detain more and more people and why they are pushing for more reasons and excuses to hold human lives hostage in them. Companies like GEO and Core Civics need to be stopped. It’s basically for profit human trafficking.

We thought Republicans meant "fix the country" as in repair, but Republicans meant "fix" like fixing a boxing match.

A smaller and smaller group of people are owning more and more businesses in this country. The only way around it is to shop small, local businesses. Worth a try for at least some of the stuff I buy.

We’re buy-cotting Walmart, Target, Amazon, and all other losers who have abandoned their DEI policies.
Do your panic buying at an ethical retailer. eBay, Costco, and Kroger are getting my money.
