I think part of the problem here is also that Trump has dementia, and is being guided by a group of advisors that probably donāt even necessarily agree with what their end goal is here (besides consolidating power).

Which leads to questions like, āIf the soldiers wonāt do urban LA warfare, when does the regime call in air strikes? What if the pilots wonāt do it?ā I mean, this has the potential to escalate in some truly insane ways.

All of these people are unpredictable bc they are making decisions based on alien world views. I think theyāre gonna TRY unimaginable violence. Whether or not it works? Yeahā¦ I share your doubts about the American military being down for urban warfare in LA.

I think that thereās been a general hesitancy among people to consider the methods that the regime might be willing to go to in order to consolidate / keep power. I think a lot of people are making the mistake of thinking that the people making the decisions are sane.

I think that we should absolutely take seriously the regimeās intention to commit boots on the ground, and enact significant violence against civilians. The thing that I really worry about is that (for the reasons you mentioned) this is going to spiral out of control.
