Realtalk, my old World History professor showed us this exact Epic Meal Time video after class one day for funsies.
Man, I miss that era of YouTube.

Some are - the really, REALLY successful ones. Most aren't, though, often doing bit parts or working on shows that aren't as well known. It's a bunch of factors.

In the case of me with one of my regular con handlers, we give each other care packages when we meet up for events. We're friends at this point, so it all feels pretty informal.

Admittedly, it is. It seemed like the levels were about equal in my editor, but in practice they’re not so even.

Agreed! Most of my enjoyment of Spaceballs comes from my familiarity of the source material and how it's lampooned, as well as the satire of merchandising, and not all of it lands.
But when it does? Good shit.

Honestly, I didn't even really enjoy Men in Tights THAT much. This COULD work if it really zeroes in on lampooning corporate IP bullshit, but... man, I can't tell if its entire reason for existing would just be depressing or not the stuff of a memorable screenplay... or both. Probably both.

It's why parasocial relationships skeeve me out. Celebs are people; flawed, disappointing, sometimes ugly *people*.
How many famous people have done questionable, even immoral things? With distance I can admire their work or their legacy, but it's important not to be blind to their darker shades.

If Midjourney ends up eating shit for this, FANTASTIC. I hope this lawsuit dominoes into other companies and factions suing Midjourney.
But at the end of it all, big billion dollar companies are going to try and sell you slop.
Don't let them just because they made something you liked 20 years ago.

You can be friendly, but not friends. Fans won't ever know who you are because they watch you.
I have no idea who you are, and it's going to stay that way. I have no input on your personal issues. If I ever meet a sentient set of teeth and eyes, I'll know him pretty well, but not you.

Yup. This isn’t just a Trump thing either. Authoritarianism is baked into American history in too many places to count.
ICE was a problem under Obama and Biden - Homan was even hired and PRAISED by Obama for his work at ICE.
“Freedom” means the ability to FIGHT for it. So fight on.
