By recording session, VAs tend to be paid a few hundred dollars, less than what most workers make in a week. I make most of my earnings from conventions, and even then I am not rich; that's WITH a somewhat steady workflow and con appearances. It's an unsteady job that takes work to maintain.

For the next dub I have planned I'm not using any filters for the characters I'm voicing, other than a basic echo for one. I find distorting audio makes voices sound simultaneously quieter... while also becoming ear-splittingly loud thanks to the distortion. They're a bit frustrating to work with.
