anyway as i've argued before any class politics worth its name is not going to treat identity as an obstacle to solidarity but as an asset. "we all suffer in different ways under capitalism and the only way to relieve your particular suffering is to help me relieve mine and vice versa."

I definitely second going to bigger cities. I visited NYC a lot when I first moved to NJ, and it was really helpful. I also sought out affinity groups for my interests outside of academia -- I climb and I wanted to be with other WOC, and I found it. Friends outside of it all were so crucial.

Oooof. I am sorry to hear that. I feel like when I moved to the east coast it took me a lot of time and trial and error to find my people. It gets better, I promise. ♥️

It's always a choice. History of being abused is not an excuse to abuse. "Hurt people hurt people" is a phrase that has caused so much harm.

100% I haven't listened to any of the episodes since they announced it's ending. I am in the anger/denial stage right now, not ready to move into how sadness. @isawpod.bsky.social, I have never felt like this for a podcast. You two (and your producers, etc.) really created something magical.
