Legal Aid reform in Scotland - 7 years after the independent review commissioned by the Scottish Government into legal aid reform reported, the Scottish Government has produced a "discussion paper". Great work there.

The Minister is correct when she says that the situation that this woman found herself in is "unacceptable". It is not a unique situation and it is of the Scottish Govt's own making. They have been warned time and again that this is where things were heading, but www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The irony of this is that, in 2020, the very same man signed an Executive Order (trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/presidential...) which effectively banned TikTok in the USA. Well, @fsb-uk.bsky.social, seems rather uninformed about data protection regulation. SMEs will fall into tier 1 (£40 per year) or tier 2 (£60 per year) for the data protection fee. They haven't changed since 2018 and there's no plan that I've seen from the DCMS to increase the fees. A "fines-first"

As a society we’re losing, on a large scale, the ability to distinguish between facts & opinions. The idea that all opinions are equally valid, even when unsupported by evidence, has led to a situation where people can have their own “truth” & become divorced from reality. It’s pervasive & dangerous
