Not necessarily. The Barnier government has tolerated the far right so much that he’s going to actually slip into it. Provided the Left pulls together it has a good chance of making its point, but without centrist havering about workers’ rights, social security, wealth taxes, international justice.

I would generally use 'socialist' for 'left' (although even that is a concession to Americanisms, the majority of the French PS being hardly what I mean).

Well, maybe I misread Nate and all his definitions, but my impression is that what he's saying is that this is NOT (yet) a left-wing space. And that he wishes it was, maybe ... So do i.
