Even small changes like colors and brightness need to go through strict human testing to make sure that it will not slow down what is practically muscle memory.

Doing live testing in Alaska is asking for trouble. The main issue with any sort of improvements is that controllers have to act and view a lot of information in a short amount of time. Mass changes to a system like this is going to lead to so much error.

The only confirmed info we have about that is so far only mildly concerning. They came in, did a lot of yelling, had a lot of meetings. As far as we can tell they did not enter sensitive areas or access sensitive data.
