Exhausted liberal; social scientist and lawyer by day, mediocre knitter and KDrama fan by night. The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice . . . I hope. Oh, and tell your dog I said “Hi.”

Honestly, me too.

1/2 Many people have already mentioned this, but just to rub it in: Let's start with terrible click-bait headline on this NYT piece. As always, no bylines or attribution for headlines, subheds, framing, or "social sell" — even though that is all most readers will ever see. Then...

I find myself getting sincerely emotional about this. That he’s, under the circumstances, okay. That his wife and kids know this after an agonizing month without him. That a Democratic politician cared enough to go and see him, even after getting told no at first. Trying matters. Fighting works.

This is a despicable lie, of course, but it also feels a bit like panic. Like they know this is spinning out of control on them but they're all in such deep denial it's got them flailing. Soulless jags.

Is this surprising to anyone? This is literally exactly what I though they thought.

yes! this dude will back down to anyone who tells him to fuck himself! this is the only response worth having!

For companies, for universities, for institutions of all sorts and for individuals, the right side of history is presently lit up with a light brighter than the sun. The decision on where to stand shouldn't even require thought.

Definitely a metaphor.

Gomez: It doesn't matter if you're young, old, or Gen X, Gen Z. We are now a new generation. We are the fuck around and find out generation. Gomez: Fuck around Crowd: Find out

Whenever you write something like this it should be antisemitism in quotes at bare minimum or in some form making clear that they’re aren’t actually cracking down on antisemitism

Life under Trump is what I imagine the Cuban missile crisis felt like, if the Cuban missile crisis recurred every few days, and instead of being a standoff with the Soviet Union it was just JFK playing whac-a-mole with the launch button for kicks while Democrats in Congress cackled like banshees.

We have opened the world to Beijing and conceded everything to Moscow. But we also terrorized a middle-aged seamstress on her way to work. That’s putting America First. by Donald Trump

the simple democratic message should be: republicans fuck up govt in every possible way. in no way are they qualified to run any level of govt. only democrats know and care how to run govt. instead the dem message is: there are some good republicans and we want to work with them to do good.

For whatever reason ICE doesn't have a Bluesky account. So I thought I'd drop this in here. Note the Free Speech crowd has now put the good folks at ICE in charge of stopping, detaining and deporting "Ideas".

maybe he could try not being a repulsive piece of shit all the time usha

Illegal ideas.

Not too late to stand in front of the offices and bring your staff, some muscle and some lawyers, congresspeople.

Thank God, Trump saved us from that economic disaster that Biden forced him to create by doing something incredibly stupid that he doesn’t understand at all.

Think about what kind of person you have to be to lie about sending someone to a torture prison for life based on nothing bsky.app/profile/atru...

we are maybe two weeks from jesse watters declaring that it’s gay for men to have sex with women

The Trump administration is comfortable disappearing people to foreign gulags partially because the Trumpis Justices on the Roberts Court have enabled him at every turn, rewriting the Constitution when necessary to accommodate Trump's lawlessness www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

In more uplifting news, 1,000 people protested ICE’s abduction of a mother and children at the home of the agency’s acting head Tom Homan. Notably, the entire population of the town is just 1,450. www.syracuse.com/state/2025/0...

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

Good for you @jamuseum.bsky.social. So good to see some spine.

NEWS: More than 500 law firms sign on to an amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie amid the firm’s legal battle against Trump’s executive order targeting its business. Read the list of firms that signed the brief authored by former SG Don Verrilli: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

🚨Georgetown University Law Center students are detailing which law firms have caved and which have stood up to the Trump regime. They have created this spreadsheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets... Please share widely.

“Is he just dumb or is he owned by someone who wants to destroy America?” is a less-than-ideal binary question to have to ask of the person leading your country.

Bet y'all miss pronouns now, motherfuckers.

Chief justice really thoroughly reading the finding that Yoon undermined democracy and ignored the constitution, and that the lawmakers were only able to overturn his decree because members of the public stood up for democracy

Ensign is having the real-life experience of an anxiety dream where you show up in a courtroom naked.

I don’t think atty-client privilege works this way.

“We get sued A LOT. 24/7”

Trueism: Presidents don't have a lot of impact on the economy. Fine Print: Because most don't do totally insane things.

Don't worry, as the country faces an entirely self-inflicted financial crisis he created today, Donald Trump is going to a Saudi golf event tonight. It's a pro-am and it's unclear if he'll play in it.

I can safely say that, if you'd told me a decade ago I'd be responding to a stock market crash with peals of laughter, I'd have thought you were mad. But fascism makes things bonkers in every way.
