I’m totally ignorant but I don’t remember buying anything American specifically. Surely there’s a way of the rest of the Whole World to get together and carry on without American stuff? I hate it for the science etc but surely the whole world could come up with a solution if we thought about it?

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.
