Likewise the US is currently in talks with Rwanda about receiving third-country deportees, a policy that was pursued in Britain despite our Supreme Court declaring it illegal until Labour won the July 2024 election and cancelled it

I haven’t read it but I think I may know of a book you’re after here! Nicola Twilley has a book specifically about _refrigerated_ food & it sounds like it might be up your alley. www.nicolatwilley.com/frostbite/

Someone said the other day that childcare is infrastructure, and that is so right. It's also infrastructure that creates equity, as it's usually women's careers which get hit, and so they end up with lower salaries, smaller pension pots etc.

I’m so envious that this is your first experience of Les Mis; it’s a smashing book.

You might have read it already, but David Belloc’s book on Les Mis is great fun as an accompaniment. www.penguin.co.uk/books/181795...

Jewish Pirates of the Caribbean is probably worth hunting out if you haven’t read it already.

Pointlessly elaborate replies to scam cold-callers: 'yes, I know my IP is compromised, it's the price I pay for my undying fealty to our eldritch lord Cuthulhu, may I interest you in a pamphlet detailing' and then they put the phone down.

Honestly, Guy, seeing your email has cheered me no end. Mind if I use it as a template to send to my own MP?

I genuinely had a moment trying to parse this in which my brain assumed that stfu Friday was a new way to describe shabbat.

It might also be worth reading the article you linked to again, Jim, because it doesn’t actually say anything to support your position: it reports a variety of differing opinions, rather than actually articulating a position itself.

Because there’s not really a better case than ‘He didn’t care that people would think he was comfortable with people forming the belief he was a Nazi doing a Nazi salute,’ & that makes any distinction moot.

The question that I think you perhaps ought to consider is: what should we infer from the fact that Musk made a gesture so obviously resembling a Nazi salute, regardless of his intent?

Unfortunately for British Jews the JC is neither reputable nor responsible, & has a habit of laundering garbage racist positions that harm British Jewish communities.

Oh, 100%! Provision for everyone is poorer than it should be; no one should be beholden to café owners & shopkeepers to provide the facilities they need for basic hygiene & comfort.

Adlet 1 is a newly toilet-only traveller, & Adlet 2 is still in nappies & generally trundled around in a pushchair, & getting him to a loo without abandoning her out of sight is an unexpected challenge. Accessible loos are basically the only option if I’m out by myself with both.

This is an extremely good idea & also I didn’t even realise that one could simply just… do that.

Oh! And the Adam Kay book about Amy the sweetcorn who has a biological Bildungsroman through the digestive tract of a medium-sized boy called Noah…

We found Goldilocks & the Three Potties by Leigh Hodgkinson & I Need A Wee by Sue Hendra & Paul Linnet were very popular with Adler 1..
