I'm currently working on Neverway at Coldblood Inc., a new studio I co-founded with @isadora.codes. We havenβt shared much yet (but soon!) so in the meantime, you can subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop with our latest announcements: coldbloodinc.studio

I don't dislike working in UI now that I have somewhat sophisticated tooling around it, but having to deal with the 1-2-3 punch of pixel art, localisation, and mouse+gamepad support is always a big challenge!

Hello o/
Made Wargroove (Win/Mac/Linux/Switch/XB1/PS4) using my own custom engine, Halley, now using it to develop Witchbrook!
It's available at gitHub.com/amzeratul/halley

It somewhat depends on the game, but I don't think that the console market is any easier than PC - and Steam is 100% the way you go on PC. In the end building a community and having it available on multiple (strategically chosen) platforms is the best bet for success IMO.

My general opinion on level design is that every level must bring something new to the table, or be cut! It's not always very easy to stick to that for all games, but otherwise you risk the player falling into boredom.

Likewise, any isometric pixel art will draw comparisons to Habbo Hotel, even if the style is extremely different!

Still not working for me, I've tried many times since yesterday, every two hours or so, and I never get a response :(

Not sure about ONE key feature, but it's:
- Modern C++
- Programmer-friendly
- Based on modern and true ECS
- 2D games as first class, but with full 3D pipeline
- Very portable
- Very customisable tooling
- Comet scripting, which is a pretty unique scripting language :D

This makes me realise that "plant based" is a poor replacement term for vegan, given a lot of vegan food contains fungi...

Yes!! I crave more games that require me to take notes and actually work out a puzzle!

Hard to pick between Giles, Willow, Anya, Spike (minus that one episode) - they're all great!

Entirely agree! I still enjoyed the game, but the side quests were very weak, especially when comparing them to BG3
