Most people in Romania are relieved that Russia’s main puppet is out of the race. Others claim Romania is no longer a democracy. Personally, I believe stopping someone who stated that he would abolish political parties from becoming president is a victory for democracy!

On the other hand, I understand why European politicians are still pro-American. I think they have no other choice. Until we strengthen our military capabilities, we remain extremely vulnerable. Europe needs to solve this problem urgently.

True. The US also seems to have authoritarian and expansionist tendencies over its neighboring territories. Even worse, it exerts these tendencies on friendly neighbors. Europe and other democratic countries certainly no longer share the same values as the US.

For me, it’s clear whose side he’s taking now. Unfortunately, the allies are too dependent to turn away from the US, so they keep kissing the ring.

What better strategy to manipulate people than to flood them with confusion?! 🫣

I think I’m starting to understand the plan now—he wants to change the borders. He no longer recognizes the 1908 treaty, the one that precisely established the USA-Canada border, and he wants to ‘revise’ it. The Russians and the Chinese are nudging each other in satisfaction.

He threw sand in the Ukrainians’ eyes, cutting off their access to military intelligence and exposing them to enemy attacks. But to make it seem less disgraceful, he throws in a worthless “strongly consider.” Wouldn’t be surprised if Putin dictated the exact wording of his post.

How convenient is this help from the Americans?! 🙄

Europe cannot maintain peace in any way other than by strengthening its defense. A strong defense is the best form of protection. Without security guarantees, as it is now on the verge of becoming, it becomes extremely fragile in the face of any attack.

I really hope I’m wrong.

My view comes in the context of the clear fact that America does not want to offer guarantees. Meanwhile, among European leaders, it’s easy to see that the countries benefiting from strong American investments are pushing to avoid a split from the US.

I wondered these days if international law still has legitimacy, given that numerous actors have repeatedly violated the rules in recent years. I assume the US’s answer to my question is NO, since the president finds it acceptable to threaten the annexation of territories against their sovereignty.

I am very curious to see the point at which americans will react. From here, in eastern Europe, it seemed like american democracy was impenetrable until now...

After the president’s speech last night, it seems that America’s moral compass is shifting completely. Lies have become the norm, values have changed, and the cult of personality is on the rise.

We should take these abnormal positions of European extremists with a grain of salt. The French elections are coming up, and even Putin would probably understand if this helps Marine Le Pen gain more support.

For many of us here in Eastern Europe, this compromise between the U.S. and Russia will be deeply painful, and we will see it as a betrayal.
It will seem to us that the “rule of force” has prevailed over international law, and that the world’s democracies—especially the U.S.—have been selfish.

Since Trump took power in the U.S., it seems that his administration also supports Russia’s desire to impose its influence over Romania. It appears that, in addition to Ukrainian territories, the U.S. is willing to offer Romania as well. It is crucial that Romanians do not give up!

I’ve been following him lately as well, and he keeps bringing up Adam Ferguson’s law (1767), claiming that public debt is a source of weakness. I don't understand the obsession with reducing public debt in an excessively short period, given that it has accumulated over decades.

I’ve decided to write about my thoughts on these issues in the upcoming posts. I hope you’ll find them interesting.😊
