Funny how that fascination also somehow doesn't extend to efficient (for the time) taxation, logistics and infrastructure.
I suggest they stick with Sparta or better yet, the 300 movie

Important skill to have.
What compass do they use?
I'm familiar with the Suunto MB-6 and like it a lot.

Some of the greatest trolling is unintentional, i.e. when someone recommended Trumps face to be put on the 100 dollar bill when this only ever happens posthumously.

Graphs are great :-)
I was quite surprised when I learned that China had overtaken the EU in electricity demand (and recently also energy demand) but they're also a manufacturing powerhouse fueling consumption elsewhere.
Energy efficiency is also important, but difficult to fully capture.

While I agree that €150Bn is less than it sounds and Russia must be taken serious (GDP PPP larger than Germany), the short term goal is still "only" detering Russia (not global force projection) and is quite achieveable.
Closer cooperation should also unlock major efficiency gains.

Didn't catch that, but you're right that the "good old days" for some parties/voters could indeed be that period.
Nice one, but a bit close for comfort😬

Blocking Romanian and Bulgarian Schengen access just to gain some "tough on migration" headlines ahead of a local election won't be forgotten for some time and will cost us dearly in the future

To a degree we already do that with how rose tinted the Monarchy days are seen🫠

As bad as this already is, this is BEFORE the right wing Putin friends of the FPÖ are part of the government since they failed to form a coalition despite gaining the most votes.
Otherwise we'd be a second Hungary :-/
Just venting, since I assume you already know this if you're based in Vienna.

This cannot be solved by air defence alone (Russia produces more ballistic missiles than Lockheed Martin produces POAC-3 interceptors) so Ukraine needs to be able to hit launch sites, launch platforms, productions sites, storage and logistics, either with western or domestic ordonance.

If there lo longer are Crotale production lines this is understandable but Aster missiles for the SAMP/T are crititcal and production should have been expanded...
Unfortunately Patriot PAC-2&3 interceptors are also in short supply.

According to Le Monde, Ukraine has reportedly run out of missiles for its two SAMP/T batteries and has not received a single missile for its Crotale short-range surface-to-air system in a year and a half.

I thought lacking industrial capacity was the cause at first and wondered why Chinese companies aren't happily stepping in, but since the problem is funding this is just another aspect of the general decay of buildings and infrastructure.

The Falcon carries LPG, true.
It's still a risk to other traffic and infrastructure even if the crew isn't doing so intentionally due to the risk for themselves.

Quite concerning that Siemens or Vestas would lose out versus a Chinese competitor without the intervention.
