I can’t think of very many examples of people who experience such sharp transitions as FSSWers in:
1. High hourly rates to much lower hourly rates.
2. Not having to negotiate, to having to negotiate.
3. Compensation based on time, to compensation based on deliverables/tasks.

Time is the most valuable resource we have. ESPECIALLY if we have well-seasoned skills, that time is even more valuable. Having lived this in FSSW can make it challenging to shift to or accept other ways of conceptualizing value.
