Are you a moderate, leftist, etc? Defeating trump in 2024 had to be paramount, Dems should’ve made deal with RFK, if they won then they could just minimize his power or outright shank him once he was no longer needed
comment in response to post
I feel this is criminally under-discussed and was truly insane at the time for Dems to not make a deal with RFK. He was polling at up to 15%!!! Just give yourself the best chance to win election, then shank him later. To me the math is clear that this swung the election.

Worst one is when the defending team catches an airball released pre-shot clock violation, but the fast break is denied if shot clock expires before they grab it. Penalizing the defensive team for 24 excellent defensive seconds.

Obrigado, Tom! Glad to hear it. For next WC and Euro we seem well set in every position, with Dias’ partner a question. Hoping one of Veiga, Inacio, Antonio takes a step forward over the next year.

Hi Andrea (or André?). Well, as mentioned in the article, three tremendous prospects from the last U17 Euro - Mora & Quenda like you mention, both very special talents - and João Simões. I'm not worried the conveyor belt has dried up but, as ever, Portugal could really do with a reliable goalscorer.

These profiles are always magnificent. The people demand a profile on an even more diminutive Portuguese attacker, including your thoughts on watching him live!

Cheers, Tom! A related question - it seems like the Seleção conveyor belt has slowed down over recent years. Do you see any young prospects breaking into the squad to become valuable starters over the next WC/Euro cycle? Joao Neves of course, but wondering about Mora, Quenda, and any others?

5’6”, 123 is wild, but then again Messi is 5’7” 148. Mora has been on fire in the Liga and is gathering buzz - would love a Mousa pod on him!

Get Leao to an elite team

Which one?

Yup. If the actual D presidency was too afraid to make Trump face consequences for Jan 6, some random AG in a purple state is unlikely to do so for Musk bribing for votes. This cravenness from Ds is unsettling, many D voters want a fight but the Ds in power are appallingly weak and meek.

Isn’t Occam’s Razor fear of what happens if they actually arrest him?

Is the rationale just bigotry + attacking liberal institutions or is there something more sinister and complex behind this? Similar to stopping cancer research etc

It boils down to Ronaldo - we can’t carry two players with no work rate, and Leao is much more valuable. Jota must play instead or else we are too ponderous and static. At 40, playing for the 4th placed team in Saudi Arabia, CR simply can’t be more than a sub at this point.

Enlightening as always, obrigado. Hopeful for the next groundswell of national protests, difficult to predict exactly what the tipping point/catalyst will be but surely they will occur.

What do you think it will take for this to change and finance/Pharma/universities/MSM to stand up? 35% approval rating, protesters fired upon, etc?

It’s also Pat McAfee of course, the soulless revolving around ESPNBET by former journalists, whatever the hell Mike Greenberg has become & the wholesale death of journalist-commentators - with the end of Around the Horn - for jocks who’ve been to hot take finishing school. Not just sad. Really dumb.

Hopefully the courts fight back to keep their power. But isn’t the fear is that this becomes the former when a R is president, the latter when a D is?
