Absolutely amazing, man. So much constructed out of values. Really hard to communicate that much going on without it looking busy at all. The type of painting I save to learn from. Thanks for sharing!

Painter here. I’m in awe of your use of white-space. That’s definitely an area that drawing would help me improve. Not easy!

Nice painting! I do hope the birds in Suffolk were doing alright. I definitely play with editing once my paintings are scanned. I go back and forth on how I feel about it. It helps when I consider that the original looks dramatically different in different lighting. Adjustments have the same effect

Hey, that reminds me of Lawren Harris!

Oops! Alt-text: the northern lights fill the night sky with blues, purples, and greens. The top of the sky is darker with a bright streak of color running towards the bottom. A distant tree line and a snowy field sit beneath the sky. A tent is setup in the field. The tent is glowing with warm light.

Neat! Do you mind sharing what kind of descriptions you like seeing in alt. text for art?

Nice frog!

No idea yet, haha. This was on kinda “bad” paper as I’d failed the mad man’s dance of wet-on-wet quite a few times before this one. Trying to portray most still seems so fragile. Maybe it’s me, but I feel like the tiniest things shatter the illusion

Thanks! Main thing is starting with the whole thing wet and putting in the rows of trees as blurry mixed greens. The misty bits were left pretty white. I threw a lot of water into those areas to shove pigment around in more interesting ways. I let that dry and added the detailed trees last

Thanks! It’s kinda a small one at around 11.5”x8.5”. I like to use scans and prints to enlarge them later if the original is that small

Did I miss the prompt for it, or are we not able to add alt text to videos? Ultimately, I just went back and added it as a comment. I don’t wanna let you down! This event is great!

Thank you so much! My palette was an absolute mess by the end. I’ll try that hashtag! Thanks for stoppin’ by!

Congrats! I’m glad it’s going so well! I worked for a long time to get 11 followers on instagram, haha. Never shook the feeling of yelling into a black hole

Nice one! It’s so easy for this kind of composition to get too busy. Great work with values and composition here. It reads well!

Inflation and income inequality squeezes are happening at the same time as big, flashy AI changes. Not… great. I can’t sell my art at $7 so far

I enjoy a good stop sometimes. What’re we giving up on today?
