Seattle could meet its 30% tree canopy goal much quicker by converting a quarter of its 500,000 on-street parking spaces. The paving-to-planting conversion would convey many benefits, cooling neighborhoods and absorbing runoff. Op-ed: www.theurbanist.org/2025/02/22/o...

I saw a plenty of "everyday Seattleites" at these events as well - YIMBYs, NIMBYs, and people just curious about the goings on in their neighborhoods. Plenty of homeowners and renters. Any group who missed the boat shouldn't be given a special showing from city council.

This entire section of Belltown (1st and 2nd Ave, between Wall and Lenora) is limited in height to 95' for hotels or residential, and 65 feet for other uses. Why??!! Someone make it make sense.

I’m convinced that whoever is writing these IZ mandates simply doesn’t want new housing built. Unfunded IZ is a mandate to prevent new housing. Texas forbids IZ and look at what’s going on with Austin housing prices.
