Seattle could meet its 30% tree canopy goal much quicker by converting a quarter of its 500,000 on-street parking spaces. The paving-to-planting conversion would convey many benefits, cooling neighborhoods and absorbing runoff. Op-ed: www.theurbanist.org/2025/02/22/o...

Holy shit! You’ve got to see this town hall. Republicans are starting to get torn apart by their own constituents. Rep. Rich McCormick: “You don’t think I’m going to stand up for you?” Woman in the crowd: “You need to stand up.” Another woman: “Don’t bend over.” 🔥

Perfection on First Hill. MOAR!

Why did Trump do this to us? 😭

Hi, it’s me, the credentialed parking expert. Your city has too much parking and you actually can’t build anymore.

I saw a plenty of "everyday Seattleites" at these events as well - YIMBYs, NIMBYs, and people just curious about the goings on in their neighborhoods. Plenty of homeowners and renters. Any group who missed the boat shouldn't be given a special showing from city council.

Why would we ever want someone who promotes terrible station location to run the organization? I hope he loses this position to someone qualified and vanishes into PNW history books.

Absolutely brutal frequency

So this is what old steam generators look like. Saw this yesterday during a building tour in downtown Seattle.

Including an Elon Musk quote in your signature line in 2025 is certainly a choice

This entire section of Belltown (1st and 2nd Ave, between Wall and Lenora) is limited in height to 95' for hotels or residential, and 65 feet for other uses. Why??!! Someone make it make sense.

We did it y'all, we outnumbered the NIMBYs!! Thanks to everyone who showed up to City Hall yesterday and spent so many hours waiting to testify. Great to see so many new & familiar faces ☺️ When we show up we all win! Join us for much more fun to come.

I can’t wait to see Laurelhurst look like Miami

City Hall is poppin’!

If you’re tired of hearing NIMBY hate from city hall, please join us from @seattleyimby.bsky.social tonight at City Hall and make sure the your voice is heard. Comment starts at 5pm!

A cool ghost sign exposed after the neighboring building was torn down for redevelopment

I’m convinced that whoever is writing these IZ mandates simply doesn’t want new housing built. Unfunded IZ is a mandate to prevent new housing. Texas forbids IZ and look at what’s going on with Austin housing prices.
