Look, can you blame Tapper? Leftists called his kid racist after pointing out that his kid wants a career most commonly sought by racists and was raised by a racist father. He simply had no choice but to side with the racists in the belief that some speech must be banned (calling him racist.)

A bus stop a couple blocks from me had a perfectly good bench and shelter replaced. The new one has the same footprint but a wide V shape so it now seats 1 person, down from 3-5 with significantly basically no standing space either. But hey the new shape can fit two ad posters now!

The outside agitators as it turns out are cops coming from the suburbs.

Not made by Blumhouse. Published by Blumhouse, and only sort of after the fact. The game was initially self published. It launched to little fanfare and a bunch of issues. It was pulled from sale to retool, got a publisher and relaunched in a better state.

Even with 30+ years and hindsight, we've barely addressed the causes of the 1992 riots. LAPD and LASD are still just white supremacist gangs. They still have too much money and power. They still get away with murder. They've had 30 years of "please don't" and it has got us nowhere.

There is a reason why the manuals for these "less lethal" weapons all very clearly state to never use in close quarters and never aim at someones head. You could easily kill someone. It is, of course, the same reason why cops routinely use them in close quarters and aim for the head.

I love how Israel's denial is not "of course we're not stealing funds from humanitarian aid" it's "of course we don't have funds for humanitarian aid."

I hate how much of modern life feels like talking to a dog. Massive systems responding not to the words said but merely the tone. You can quote these guys, but he said all those things like they were good and you said them like they were bad and somehow that makes your post the real problem.

Canadian centrists will be there in a decade or so. Aus and UK centrists are already further right than the US Dems. Canada is not the average in the English speaking world
comment in response to post
You don't need to specify the country. Centrists are the same everywhere. The Liberal party takes steps to the right with ease, but steps to the left require them being dragged kicking and screaming.

They want all of politics to be Calvinball despite the fact they're not Calvin.

They didn't actually pick up that many Trump voters, those voters mostly just stayed home. Kamala's campaign was doing significantly better in the "alienating Trump voters" phase than it was in the "rehabilitating Cheney's image" phase. Catering to fascists is losing elections, not winning them.

I really want to know what "climate activists" appreciate him spiking multiple attempts at electric rail systems that would significantly reduce emissions from cars and planes.

He has fallen on hard times after the loss of his husband. We all deal with grief in our own ways.

A significant portion of disabled people do not or can not drive. We would benefit the most from better public transit and housing near transit hubs. This is another instance of abled bigots invoking us while having never spoken to us, to justify their selfish impulses that hurt us the most.
comment in response to post
I'm reminded of abled people pretending to have anxiety disorders or pulmonary problems to claim they shouldn't have to wear masks in 2020. Meanwhile I, someone with an anxiety disorder *and* pulmonary problems, received no exemption, and continue to mask just fine because covid would kill me.

Thinking about how Tenet just kinda flew under the radar. A conservative outlet throwing absurd amounts of money to platform mid tier bigots is just an every day occurrence in that field. The only difference was the propagandists were paid by Russian ghouls and not American ghouls.
comment in response to post
Not fall in line, they're already racists who are happily complying. In a similar way that Conservative claims of "bias" against them have given news outlets already biased in their favour an excuse to go further right, this gives cops an excuse to be even more racist.

Looking forward to WaPo and NYT reporting it ash "Trump once again questioning the validity of Joe Biden's win in 2020."

Similar vibe to "the iron cross isn't a Nazi symbol, Germany still awards it to soldiers!" Yeah I don't think most of the Americans using it have distinguished service in the German military.

There is a whole video for it from the builder. Mobo is a mini-ITX board inside the "barrel" with a PCI riser to the GPU on top. So weirdly it is supposed to be viewed from the back, as all your wires come out the front. I guess that is accurate to an FPS. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfNq...

Weird how the "every life is sacred" crowd are willing to condemn millions to death so a billionaire can go golfing every ~5 days on the taxpayers dime.
comment in response to post
At his current rate the Trump Admin will spend more than this on Donald's golf trips. Currently on track to hit $100,000,000 in 2025.

Really feels like the bigoted execs trying to make it fail. They want to be able to back to shareholders and say "We gave them what they wanted and sales haven't improved. Clearly we're not the problem and we were right to try to abandon them."

"Vote Blue No Matter Who" sure seems to end up with a whole lot of blue bigots in important seats. Almost feels like it does in fact matter who.

He was also creeping on a trans woman who told him to kick rocks. There are multiple layers to the glinner onion and they're all just "trans people had reasonable objections to my behaviour and as a result I don't think they should be allowed to live."

Israel's defenders also love to ignore that Israel was kidnapping Palestinians en masse and attacking civilian gatherings prior to October 7th. October 7th was a response to Israeli aggression. If these acts justify any response then by the reasoning of Israel's defenders, October 7th was justified.

Really fun seeing Brits talk about the terrifying speed at which bigotry became normalized in the US and say "Britain is not America, or at least not yet" as if their supreme court didn't just eradicate the rights of a vulnerable minority this month, to the cheers of the political class and press.

Not just that he is saying it, he's been saying it for a while. You can't just say "that time Rufo said he would lie about something to hurt marginalized folk and then liberals treated it like legitimate concerns." That describes at least a half dozen different events, you'd need to be specific.
comment in response to post
Also good to remember that statistic came from a survey of cops themselves. 40% of cops will admit to domestic abuse if you tell them it's an anonymous survey. Cops know investigators can lie to get confessions because that is a thing cops do, so there's likely a lot more that didn't confess.

Do not forget that during the Biden administration the White House and Nancy Pelosi held events to celebrate the Reagans during Pride. Democrats don't get to call themselves "allies" when they can't stop themselves celebrating people who wanted to eradicate us, let alone wait until after Pride.
comment in response to post
I think the problem is they didn't do it to appease the Trump admin. They did it because the executives suck and had been looking for an excuse to do shitty things. Now they've got what they wanted they don't want to roll it back simply because it's "hurting the company" and "bad for business."
comment in response to post
You'll also need to primary every single democrat that voted in favor of the regimes agenda. Flipping the house won't change anything if Democrats still have 20~ people voting along side the fascists.

The one thing trans people and Rowling agree on is that giving her money is direct support of her transphobia. If you've got a problem with people taking that stance maybe you shouldn't give money to Rowling, a person who takes that stance.

This is one of the big reasons I've kinda grown to hate Hanlon's Razor. With overuse it's kinda become "always assume ignorance, never assume malice" but this level of wilful ignorance can't exist without malice. Ignorance alone isn't enough.

It is more than that, they've also just accepted the ADL definition of antisemitism which is "antisemitism is when you consider Palestinians to be human beings." Straight up Nazi shit? ADL gives it a pass. Hell, they'll endorse it even, as Greenblatt did with Musk. Just don't wear a keffiyeh.

Just goes to show how devastating the cuts have been to the US government. It was rare for past administrations to put their weight behind a terrible repressive leader and lose. Maybe the guy who picked targets got fired or the CIA is just sad that ICE took the job of disappearing Americans.

He still has a "good friend" who worked as a lawyer for an anti-LGBTQ+ hate group and recently penned a transphobic op-ed for the NYT. So he is also fine with transphobes when they're very clearly not "just asking questions" and have a vested interest in our eradication.

Not to mention that minimum specs don't really mean anything. I played Doom 2016 fine with a card slightly below the min spec. I'm having trouble playing Dark Ages with a card well above the min spec. Minimum specs are not set to a unified, objective standard of performance.

"During?" My guy, it's still ongoing. Only thing that changed is the "C" went from capital to lower case.

You can find articles from when they were put up. Many of them had dedication speeches from KKK members and direct acknowledgement that it was little more than a racist totem built to make Black people feel unwelcome. No ambiguity, zero subtly. Blatant racism that has been revised into "history."
comment in response to post
It is similar to when there was a fire at the Daughters of the Confederacy HQ. A lot of talk of "history" being lost but all their "historical artifacts" were being used to push racist revisionism. They weren't preserving history, they were erasing it. Better burned than in their hands.

The Philadelphia one is just really funny to me. Was there any confusion? Is there someone out there who thought it was named after the city in ancient Egypt?

She is a ideologue through and through, they vetted her to make sure. She has the same objections most Republicans had to Trump in 2016. She is fine with a Republican being crowned king. Her issue is she fears he is moving too fast, that he is going to blow it and ruin all their hard work.
