If the writing and premise is exceptional/unique enough but word count is above the norm in (historical fantasy) MG will agent(s) still automatically reject the query/sub or take a chance on it? I know shorter is in now, Will longer MG ever make a comeback w/kids still favoring graphic novels?

At least you aren’t constantly having to change dead back to deaf (it literally autocorrected to dead as I typed this! 😂🤷♀️😂)

Sounds productive. I walked over 7,000 steps while ideas for a WIP percolated in my mind. Different version of productive I guess. #amwriting

My understanding is that it is a temporary freeze. So I guess we will see how that plays out.

Finally, I love historical fiction would be ecstatic to get some in my inbox, especially stories set around the world. Some of my favorites include LOOT by Tania James, HAMNET by Maggie O'Farrell, PACHINKO by Min Jin Lee, and THE NICKEL BOYS by Colson Whitehead #MSWL

I don't think I’m generally a great fit for fantasy, BUT the exception would be something cozy with Studio Ghibli vibes. Cafes! Weird little guys! Girl empowerment! Nature! Cats! Wholesome! Coming-of-age! (Not looking for super complicated world-building or heavy romance/spice) #MSWL

I also want to build my list of exciting, meaningful, fun, and funny MG fiction! Again, I especially hope to see SFF and horror submissions with original premises and clear conflicts, but I'm also open to contemporary stories and mysteries. In everything, I hope to see strong messages! #MSWL
