Missing this perfect Sunday view ❤️🐶👧🏼🌷🌻🌹🪻🌸🌼🌺

This is all over LinkedIn but not seen it here! PregnantThenScrewed is destroying 74,000 CVs, exposing women whose careers are shredded by pregnancy/mat discrimination every year, despite three-quarters (avg.) of a working mum’s career coming AFTER mat leave. Add yours to: careershredder.com 💪🏻

Having to coin a new word for that ‘Trump Gaza’ AI video monstrosity. Hilarifying (adj.) - something incredibly funny in the first instance that quickly turns to horror when its true impact is realised. See also: Horrifious

The mum multitask - listening into a live IoD webinar in one ear and facilitating bedtime with the other (and my two hands!) 🫨😅

This evening’s entertainment courtesy of today’s charity shop find 😍 Gorgeous hardcover and singed by the author - an absolute steal 🥳

The memeification of professional bodies online trades the trust of all for the engagement of few, & erodes societal norms by allowing deep cruelty for cheap clicks. Seeing the highest offices fail to uphold long-held standards of professionalism, let alone the actual law, is painful & devastating.

Ask any working parent & the answer to ‘can I stay home because you are?’ would be an emphatic ‘not a chance in hell!’. Unless your child is unwell physically or mentally no working mum or dad is trading their mammoth to-do list to be a Snack Bitch all day. www.theguardian.com/education/20...

Some light listening for a Saturday night 👩🏻‍💻🧠 P.S. How good is BorrowBox?! If you’re not using it to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from libraries yet it’s definitely worth it! 📚👩‍🏫

We’re all going to have to start using Bing soon aren’t we 😭🤦‍♀️

Late night learning on a Thursday 💁🏻‍♀️🥳 Tuned into the Institute For Public Relations webinar ‘From AI Agents to Artificial Superintelligence’ looking at shifts in digital reputation building. Still so much we don’t know about what’s coming, but we’re already speeding ahead of predicted evolution.

Bought this after seeing David post about it a few weeks back and he is 1000% right about it. It's a ROUGH read, but it's worth it.

HYPERNORMILISATION - societal phenomenon where people recognise that a system - economic, political, or otherwise - is failing but continue to act as if it’s functional. Adam Curtis' 2016 documentary on the subject is still depressingly relevant today & is on iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...

The 'return to office full time' brigade have infiltrated Hallmark movies 😭

Definitely one of the top 3 ‘out of office’ messages I’ve ever received 🎿⛷️ Very jealous of the sender!

In my emails tonight one door closed: “Sorry, you’ve not got the contract this time.” And another opened: “You’ve sold three kids dress on Vinted and made £8.50!” Going straight the bank with that one 😅

Question for social people - is it possible for LinkedIn to glitch & repeat profile view notifications, or do I have a problem? It’s one guy, most days, sometimes multiple times a day, for the last 3 weeks or so. Not connected, not in my industry, but he works for a local company. Just feels…off.

On this note you’ll no longer find me on X, or Facebook and Instagram soon. No ‘virtue signalling’ here 🙄 They haven’t served me professionally or personally for more than a year. But now even lurking on them feels complicit. I’ll be focusing my attention on things that earn & deserve it in 2025.

If you’re mad about being tricked into thinking Blue Monday was a real thing, wait until you find out the whole idea of carbon footprint started as a marketing campaign for BP… mashable.com/feature/carb...

Petition to rebrand ‘Blue Monday’ as the day we all just enjoy the the back catalogue of Blue, the boyband? If pop’s not your thing then we can include Eiffel 65’s ‘Blue (Da Ba Dee)’ too.

Finally got to see Hamilton on stage for the first time this weekend (after multiple Disney+ viewings over the year!) and it was incredible 🤩 “History has its eyes on you” feels particularly poignant today, but I’m also choosing to believe this - “how lucky we are to be alive right now” ❤️💪🏻

The only way to spend a chilly Sunday: ✅ Sofa ✅ Snuggles ✅ Snacks ✅ Snooze Otis has it nailed 😍🐶 Conserving energy for the week ahead 💪🏻

Anyone else made the very obvious ‘giant cock’ joke yet?!🐔🥣 My incredibly childish humour aside, I really like this stunt from Taylor Herring and Kellogg’s 🤩 and love seeing stunts back in the wild again after the festive break 🥳 www.famouscampaigns.com/2025/01/the-...

The quote below is from my book THE VIEW FROM FLYOVER COUNTRY:

Only two episodes in and this is my new podcast obsession 🤩 Inject Emma Grede into my soul because her episode was exactly what I needed yesterday 💪🏻🩷 and Jo Malone’s story was incredible. Rochelle is a fabulous host and I can’t wait to see who else she has on!

How it started…

That’s the dog walk sorted! 🐶

How did you spend your Sunday? I got to enjoy the world premiere of Ava’s very first film - Monster Under My Bed - that she wrote, directed, & starred in with her dad & the dog! 🎬🍿 She had an idea, made a decision, & ran with it. Just had a go & had fun ❤️ anyone else inspired by their kids?

I remember reading Eleanor Gordon-Smith’s observation of this in her book ‘Stop Being Reasonable: six stories of how we really change our minds’ back in 2019. All we’ve achieved by sharing space with people like Farage & his ilk in the name of ‘balance’ is to legitimise the worst parts of humanity.

No better feeling than basking in the winter sun in a quiet room under a blanket with a new book 📖🌤️🥶 I might need a second blanket for the chilled spine this is already giving me 😬

Rewatching The Thick Of It and finding Malcolm Tucker’s rants strangely therapeutic 😅

For my fellow jobseekers this January - don’t be afraid to go all in on what you really want 💪🏻

It’s been 3 years since @richleighpr.bsky.social & Anders Nilsson nominated me for Management Today’s 35 under 35 & it means as much today as it did then ❤️ If you are, or know, an incredible woman who deserves recognition nominate here: managementtoday35womenunder35.evessiocloud.com/MT35U352025/...

I know the world is all kinds of insane at the moment, but my husband sent me this during a job interview yesterday and it was exactly the light relief I needed in that moment 😂 So I figured it might help someone else during their hourly doomscroll today ❤️💪🏻

Unexpected silver lining - realising your recent panic disorder and subsequent burnout is actually wildly on trend 😅 To paraphrase Théoden from LotR* - What can comms pros do in the face of such reckless fear? *I remain convinced there is a LotR quote for every occasion.

I somehow have a 6-year-old today and my heart was not ready. Especially as at bedtime last night she came out with “what happens to 5-year-old Ava? We’ll never see her ever again!” 🥺🥹 I told her that might be true, but that I’m excited to get to know version six of my little miracle 🩷

Absolutely insane and vital thread and article exposing the seditious movements against democracy in the US right now.

Prepping for the job interview of a lifetime next week while also juggling school holidays, cleaning for a family visit and my daughter’s birthday party this weekend and getting her back-to-school ready 😬🤯 #SendCoffee ☕️
