It's an expression. Do you always take offense at inoffensive things?
comment in response to post
I did no such thing. I offered a reply to a query. Then 1st skeeter commented and I commented back, then you jumped in. I really was just offering a reply to what I thought was a query. You read a tone that wasn't intended. Now can we all kumbayah and skeet or post as we each prefer?

Maybe I'm overly sensitive to women in leadership roles being dismissed. Maybe it's because I don't like the reminder of The Bad Place. Nevertheless, bsky.app/profile/ann1... You skeet your little brains out & I'll post. And we'll all be happy.

I guess it's about perception. I didn't perceive his comment as f'd up. I took it that he believes in Zelenskyy's ability to outwit Trump and use his fragile ego against him. The pivot to commenting on using his billions to end world hunger was jarring, though understandable on an emotional level.

Hi Stephanie, that post was in reply to someone asking what a quote skeet was, which is understandable since the feature offers the labels Repost or Quote post, but to the skeet user I literally did say, bsky.app/profile/ann1... To each their own = You do you, we'll do us

As I said, to each their own.

Right, but my point is that it's easy to say a person with a lot of money could solve world hunger when anyone going hungry, or homeless, is a policy decision. Whatever money Cuban, or any billionaire, throws at it is both short term & wasted, not a solution, without widespread policy change.

Jay, the CEO, literally said they were posts. Not skeets. Sky + tweet = skeet seems pretty disrespectful for a Not Twitter platform, but that's just me. To each their own!

Even milk is 88% water!

Then why the skeets?

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. I find skeets borderline offensive as if the users of that term think of Bluesky as a Twitter Twin wannabe instead of its own thing.
comment in response to post
There are no skeets, only posts (per Jay & she's the boss), and therefore reposts or quote posts.

I realize this demonstrates my privilege, but when there are too many hoops to jump through to apply for a job, I just don't, even if it's a great fit. There's a point where the process feels unnecessarily difficult & complex with no guarantee of any response.

Why do they have an image of General Milley under that headline?

All wars everywhere are for financial interests, whether its the party that started it, or the party defending. Expansionism (colonialism/imperialism) is always about greed & financial gain.

I've always recognized the difference between wants and needs, but a big part of *my* aging well is an eco-friendly private jet. πŸ˜‰

The exceptionalism tradition is designed to convince white people that we never did anything bad or dark, otherwise we'd hold our nation accountable and that would undermine the white power structure.

I encounter this attitude with my parent & siblings so I know what you mean. I read a book that suggested Americans are geared to be suspicious of govt & susceptible to conspiracy theories because, outside of Native & enslaved people, we're mostly here because an ancestor was fleeing bad governance.

Pocket Casts shows me the right one.

Nothing to forgive! I'd be sensitive if a blowhard given too much attention because he's somehow gained control of the world's biggest superpower had been disrespectful to my country, too. (Oh, wait. He has.) I just regret not getting my dually when I was young & immigration was less restrictive.

The thing about world hunger is that it's not a food problem, it's a political logistics problem. Food can't get where it's needed because: *it spoils due to bureaucracy *corruption leads to it being diverted Money is important, sure, but systemic change is the biggest need.

In Lisbon, announcements are made to give up seats to elderly, pregnant women, those with disabilities, those holding young children, and I witnessed that happening numerous times during the week I rode the bus, the metro, & the train.

I found it using Pocket Casts.

I have no idea what this is about specifically, but only because it can be applied to so many things.

Started with Ledbetter years ago, moved right into Shoresy. LOVE it!

Iowa in particular has a manure problem. Food and Water Watch reported that Iowa factory farms produce more waste than any other state, at 109 billion pounds of manure annually, based on USDA data. That waste has led to manure spills, contributing to what some groups call a water quality crisis.

There's been a huge shift in the last 18-24 months to the point that I, a lifelong NPR supporter & listener, deleted the app last summer and severed my relationship completely.

There've been recent studies on the impact of diet and exercise on weight loss & maintenance & have discovered that diet/calories consumed is the greatest factor. One study assigned 90% as the mitigating impact of diet vs exercise. Exercise is important for other reasons, but diet is #1 for weight.

I've since had surgery to correct my vision problem, but now I prefer audiobooks. I don't know if this is something you can implement, but I wanted to offer you encouragement.
comment in response to post
A vision problem robbed me of that. When it had been 3 yrs since I'd read a book I decided to try audiobooks. I built up my tolerance by starting w podcasts, short ones at 1st; when I could tolerate a 2 hr podcast I turned to books. Light fare initially, eventually leading to all manner of material.

Europe is getting a bit closer to that. The US *only* has $15 Billion. The majority is in Europe and Japan, etc.

They'll come in through the back door, Alaska, and take possession of all the natural resources. Canada isn't our friend anymore so we'll be on our own. So, should we forsake Alaska to preserve the 48?
