Amy Paris was hired to help modernize the nation's donor organ network, which ensures critically-ill people get the organs they need.
She was also let go.

So I understand the urge, but it'd be much better to cut off direct subsidies to unhealthy food while giving people cash.
The kicker is that, as evidence from Alaska shows, giving people unconditional cash itself can help reduce obesity. scholarworks.alaska.edu/handle/11122...

However I worry that with no U.S. government involvement in strain selection, not only will our vaccine be a shitty match, other countries’ will be too. The vaccines will be less effective everywhere. More flu, more reassortment, more chances for bad viruses to emerge.

Communication has resumed, she says, but not at the level they'd like. They're aware of around 1,300 ppl fired from CDC in recent days.

Given this memo ordering USAID employees not to talk to the press, let's also recall that Trump fired USAID's IG for revealing that the freezes put $500 million in food aid at risk of spoiling.
Dem strategists warning against talking about this are being ridiculous.

I was shown a letter from one grantee who was specifically flagged for non-compliance because their grant application includes the term "racial equity." They must now literally certify they are not doing any racial equity-related work. Crazy, totalitarian, racist conduct by the feds right now.

As both @juliarosekraut.bsky.social and @anniemcdonough.bsky.social have pointed out, the new DOJ lawsuit against NY state cites an 1893 Supreme Court case that authorized the federal government to arrest & deport Chinese immigrants under the Chinese Exclusion Act.

Don’t worry, this will only discourage participation in girls’ sports 🙃 Boys can still have all the sports they want without being subject to this nonsense.
