This is very similar to the "Checked Your Socials Do-si-do", a cool dance move you see at Cons. You're chatting w/ someone & they're not into it. They ask for your card as a way to exit the conversation. You give them your card. They walk away. Then they come back a few mins later, MUCH FRIENDLIER.

Idk if sociology or what, but I’d love to read about the phenomenon about how a group of ppl can establish norms for behaviour so quickly so that the whole group understands and finds this normal and comfortable, and how one person can shatter those norms for everyone. For better or for worse.
