there are a lot of disgusting mercenaries who do this job for no reason but clout and money. that they share a job title with the hundreds of Gazan journalists who have marched into death because they knew what they had to do is forever upsetting to me

Eh, weight loss is often temporary, so I tend to ignore those studies since they talk only about short term and about aesthetics instead of health, personally.

And in terms of pure health like lowering heart etc risks, studies I think show 4k is fine. Literally any movement is better than none, and the diminishing returns curve is pretty steep in terms of pure health bennies.
